| | If you want to allocate more resources to an important program you are running do the following:
1) press ctrl+alt+delete
2) select the "processes" tab
3) find the program you are using and right-click on it
4) on the drop down bar that appears scroll over "select priority"
5) select "high"
(CAUTION DO NOT SELECT "REALTIME" AS THIS MAY IMBALANCE YOUR SYSTEM)
6) A warning will appear, click yes
If you follow these easy steps you will find that whatever program you have done this to should run faster and more efficiently. However, this is something that must be done each and every time you use that program, as it is not a saved setting. Also note that it is best to only do this with 1 program at a time. this is an especially usefu;ll feature if you are running a resource hungry process' like games. |

You have to understand that changing the priority of any program in your PC can make that program to either utilize more or less processor and ram resources. This isnt something anyoone should try doing on his/her computer. If you wanna do something like that, you should make sure that you are using a good processor (pentium 4 or higher/equivalent processor) and probably about 512MB of ram/more. Like he said, never use the realtime as this particular program can utilize your processor resources alone and will actually make the other programs to crash.

So, can some tell me in detail about changing the priority and its pros and cons. Does it crashes the system to hardware level.
