In this tutorial I will be showing you how to make a abstract signature in GIMP. I have a lot of
images for this so bear with the loading time. First, you need to make a new image. I think
400x100px is a good signature size. I used these settings. You should have a blank white canvas.
We will start out our sig by brushing up a quick background. I came out with this: Next, we will
make a new layer. We will do more brushing on this layer. I used these settings: Start brushing
with a different brush set. I ended up with this: Select your first brushed layer, th....
In the GIMP there's a feature known as a guide which is about as close as you can get to the
way Photoshop slices an image. You may not be able to generate an HTML TABLE out of the guides
(don't even attempt to via "Save As" /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P"
border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />—not good) like with slices in ImageReady (Photoshop uses
ImageReady to generate the HTML TABLE; last i checked), but it still helps when slicing an image
GIMP style . Note: I'm using the development version of the GIMP (version 2.3.18), so th....
This tutorial assumes that you know the basics and way around the GIMP. This tutorial is also based
on the following sig: Note: This tutorial was written and made under Linux for convenience
purposes (gotta love KSnapshot /xd.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":XD:" border="0"
alt="xd.gif" />), so shortcut keys may differ under Windows. Create a new document: File > New
(Ctrl+N): 400px (w) by 150px (h) . Load up your render: File > Open As Layer (Ctrl+Alt+O) . Scale
the image (render) down a bit if it covers too much room. Make sure this first layer....

This tutorial will show you how to make a simple, yet effective double layer tech border for a sig
in Photoshop CS, (should be similar in earlier versions of PS). This uses some of my shortcuts,
because I am basically a lazy person and will always look for the easiest way to do something.
/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> The main one in
particular is the "Tech Borders" style file, attached here. Download the file now, then extract
and save the file in to the "Presets > Styles" folder of your Photoshop folder. You wil....
Like I said in my GIF tutorial , GIMP's as good as Photoshop (or even better) and it's
totally free, so.. obvious choice, really. The latest stable release is 2.2.7 or if you prefer to
live on the bleeding edge, you can get the 2.3.0 or 2.3.1 development releases from
http://gimp.org/ Windows users please take note that you have to install the GTK runtime
environment for it to function. You could get it from http://gimp.org/windows/ but I think I got
mine from sourceforge. OK so if you're all set now, you can start up GIMP and you're ready
to fol....
Right, first off, Photoshop costs a bomb, I don't have the cash, so it has to be GIMP. Anyways
from what I've heard, GIMP is about as good as Photoshop, and it's free. The latest stable
release is of GIMP is 2.2.6 and you can get it here . Points to note: GIF stands for Graphics
Interchange Format. It is limited to 256 colours only. Hence, it isn't a good idea to use this
format if you are working with high-resolution photos/images and want to keep them at that level. It
works better with illustrations. First, using GIMP, make all the layers of your ....

In Photoshop to make a very basic border, follow these steps: 1) Select > All 2) Select > Modify >
Border. Use 3 pixels this time. 3 ) Fill it with anything you'd like, preferrably the bucket.
There you go, just thought you'd like a useful tidbit of information, using this method you can
create smoothed borders and other various and very nice signature worthy, and even layout worthy
things.....
