I definitely would do atleast 1 gig of ram. Currently i run 1gb and still games push it to like 95 - 100%. I would recommend 2gig to 4 gig.

Youd need like 2 motherboards to fit them on lol. Get a better video card and youll run games fine. QUOTE 3G - 3.2G CPU (INTEL) You dont think dual processor? Anyone else got suggestions/comments?

For CPU if your into gaming go with an AMD processor. Its lightning fast for gaming, but Intel is better for design stuff etc. So its basically a tradeoff... whatever your more into.

Think about adding the new PhysiX Gaming Physics Processor Unit(PPU). This will greatly improve your gaming performance.

I noticed that you said you didn't know what video card you were going to choose. I'd highly recommend Nvidia for a gaming video card. They're quite good and powerful.

K, living in New Zealand its alot more annoying, not as much to choose from and stuff. Most RAM and motherboard parts are easily obtained but not pro video cards

hmm to be honest that will not game and will not even be tht good of a computer at least in my opinion. Im currently building a computer of my own. I set a 1600 dollar budget not counting shiping and handling and im buying all my self from tigerdirect.com (deffinetly the place to go if your geting alot of stuff and need good prices.) Any way for mine here is what im geting AMD Dual 3.0 processor 2 Gig Corsair ram 160 gig 7200 RPM HDD 19 acer LCD monitor 256 ATI (forgot the exact model) Any way ya that will be a sweet gaming rig and will do basically everything. it should cost me when all is said and done about 1800 after shipping, perhipals and what not but at least in my opinion thats really not that bad considering all your getting.

im presuming you mean 2 2.6ghz cores, not 2 1.33s. With a processor of that speed, your ram will let you down, 768 isnt really that much, if your running a processor like that, to use your computer to its full potential, i would suggest 2gb. if you want gaming, the processor will be very good, but the hard drive may let you down, 80gb is not a lot, especially if you want music or videos ect on the hard drive. 56k modems are very slow, however, if you dont have access to broadband or something beter than dial-up, thats probably your best bet, you may want to find yourself an internet accellerator (googles free web accellerator is fine). most DVD drives now, are DVD writers, it will be easier for you to get a DVD writer, and will probably cost no more, since they are so cheap now.

Get a AMD 3800+ or somethin similiar.. they're VERY cheap and you'll be able to play enough games. Also, get 2x 512mb memory.. You can always upgrade later (not that expensive).. 80GB HDD should do if you wont install games like Age of Conan (30 gigs). A decent graphicscard would be a GeForce 8400Gs or somethin near to it.. Good luck finding !

i agree with zach101 . The pc you won't to buy won't even run Photoshop perfectly and if you run more applications together you will need more memory . I recently bought a new Pc (3 months ago) with the following specs: -AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ -2 x 1 GB Dual Channel DDR2 800 MHZ memory -Samsung SATA2 250 GB HDD -Gainward NVidia 8600 GT Golden Sample GLH 256 MB DDR3 (625/1800/1400 MHZ) - A Deluxe ABIT motherboard . And this is somehow a medium range pc . So what pc did you bought ?

What's The Difference Between 64 And 32 Bit?
Buying a new computer. (9) Hey everyone! I'm going to be buying a new laptop in a few months, and I am very confused
about one thing: AMD manufactures a LOT of 64 bit processors, while Intel almost never does.
I'm clueless when it comes to processors, and I'm concerned because I haven't really
been paying attention to processor specs as much as HD and RAM, even though those are the cheapest
and easiest to switch. Does anyone have any good tips about processors? I'm mainly wondering

Is It The Power Supply?
Help! I broke my computer while buildin it. (21) Okay, this is the second time building a computer on my own. The motherboard had a 24-pin socket but
I didn't notice that the power supply had a 20-pin connector with an extra 4-pin to go with the

240pin socket on the motherboard and the extra 4-pin to the 4-pin socket across from the
motherboard. The correct 4-pin was left hanging and wasn't used. So after all these things were
done and I connected the power cable to the PSU and switched it on, I heard some popping so....
