G2p - Google Hack To Get Mp3s

FunkySurd
When I saw it first i was like WOW!!
Heres the thing:

Think of P2P file sharing, except google is one of those people

QUOTE
Using some special searches, we are able to search for specific files (and file types) using google. What G2P is currently tuned to find is MP3s, Ebooks, and gives the ability to use google as a Proxy. These searches alone are nothing secret, but G2P puts them easy to use (and remember) interface.

This is pretty cool, go to http://www.g2p.org and read the stuff from digg it! You can not only locate mp3s but also rar files, i've tried searching for softwares and it works for some cases! Just change the "mp3" to "rar" or "zip" and also don't forget to change the file name!

This works for the sites that don't block or use password on access!

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't peer-to-peer networking illegal? I know its fully illegal in Australia, but what about the US?

Illegal or not it exists and this alone is enough for most people to use it, as for the rest of them...guess stinkin rich people are never going ot appreciate the true need of file sharing as a right to freely give a chance to others to enjoy what you do. P2P is out there and it is going to stay and no government can stop it, because to ban something is just a way to put more fuel in the fire. wink.gif
by the way 10x for the link.

That's pretty interesting. I knew about it some time ago, but I didn't realize there was a direct search site. I just heard what to put in, and it wasn't quite so accurate.

Though I'm sure Google will do something about that before too long. They're pretty anti-piracy. Not a whole lot they can do, though. Unless they just remove the ability to search MP3 files, or something to that extent.

i had heard about something similar to this using google. But i hadn't heard of this site. But Google will probably be working hard on stopping this so people are using their proxy to get illegal files.

Its not really a p2p in the first place, You dont share the files. People host the files on their private servers and g2p.org searches through the servers that google has indexed and gives you a list of them that have what you searched for. It is filesharing but its not as bad in my eyes, I like the service even though I cant find a vast majority of the songs I search for.

Besides Google wouldn't crawl these private servers if the host just put a No spider crawl on the directory and Google won't index their files. It's as simple as that. So to those hosts that are too lazy to create a simple file in 5 minutes then it's their fault their files are being pirated.

I'd say this was illegal... so get in there and download all the mp3's whilst its still up!
thats the way to do it. As google is the one who bears the grunt of the pain when things get sorted out.
You can't lose, and it is very unlikely if you use this put up by google, you would get in trouble...

good luck!

P2p is not illegal and if it is disallowed anywhere it is a pure violation of our communication rights! The only thing that is forbidden is to share copywritten material and that is the one thing that can be forbidden! However if you find stuff on google, then you are not responsible for downloading stuff that is freely available accross the www. The one thing you should not do with mp3s or software that you download from google, is to copy or reproduce it without approval of the owner.

I think that about sums it up and yes google is veeery good at finding mp3s if you use it the right way..

File sharing is directed at sharing "files" and free programs etc. Although times have changed and now the only reason why someone would download a file sharing program would be to download music. File sharing isn't illegal in my country (New Zealand) but I'm not sure about other countires.

That site is really cool and shows us the real power of using google. I also love that trick about using Google as a (safe) proxy server to access blocked sites. I'll give it a try the next time I'm at school smile.gif

Peer to Peer networking is not illegal in the United States, but it is illegal to use a peer to peer network to distribute illegal content.

I just tried this website and believe me, I was amazed about how the extensive search techniques were used to search for the stuff wanted. I mean this is great. I neven seen all the handles and other stuff used to narrow down the search. PS: it's not even illegal. we are just using a search engine to find stuff and are intrigued enough to visit the websites that show up. THAT IS SENSATIONAL.
Kudos to whoever made this website.

Hang on, hang on whats this trick..? (google translate the blocked sites???!)
Itd be great to know about this cos everything is blocked at school. Damn IT services! maybe they should worry about getting the network to work rather than blocking everything in sight.

Really it isn't illegal to download the files, it's probably "more" illegal to put the files on the net in the first place. Anyway I'm at school at the moment but not my school (I'm at my dad's work - he works at a school).

I was finishing some homework and I had to search for "games". On these computers the search "games" on google is denied. It comes up with an error message with campus watchdog or something. So I thought this would be an ideal oppartunity to test the google trick with the proxy. Well for starters the G2P site was blocked, but I had checked it out at home and so I knew it used Google Translator, so I put the google search page into the google translator site. It blocked that as well.

This trick will only work on URLs being blocked. But at this school it blocks keywords, whcih means that the translator trick won't work.

No, it's not illegal in any way...this system seems like all it does is find the files for you...what you choose to search for and/or download is what decides legality.

Like it says in the title post, it just takes things you can already do with google and puts it into an easier interface. Kinda like slapping a limewire faceplate onto google, or something like that.

Looks interesting, I'll try it.
