| | When you look at it, theres two choices of free hosting, thats even decent. Well 3, but it all depends on what you look for. If you look for something easy, and something for testing purposes, freewebs all out. Then theres 2 that are very similar, Trap17, and rifehost. This is just at first looks, but rifehost looks better because all you have to do is make a couple posts right? Well, actually trap17 is a better host only because it provides better service, active staff, and their servers are almost always up.
Just stay if you ask me :\ |

Just looking at the main page, I saw that it said that you had to pay 1 cent, which could also mean it's a credit card scam, unless you go someplace and give them a penny. I don't get what the point of asking for a cent is unless they're going to use your credit card info and max it out so they get rich off the first few people. Trap17 is the only free web hosting service I could find that I could trust so far, although I hadn't been looking very long before I found it. Actually, this was the second free hosting thing I found, and it's been perfect so far(except that I waited to long to post once, and my page went away for a while). I think it's worth it to stop looking for new hosters and just leave it to trap17.

I've been with a brother site... 789mb.com and its not the best. They all use the same template and are basically the same host. As for the one cent deal - thats to upgrade to paid hosting. The paid hosting is another site, probably the father site.

I'd like to personally warn anybody away from freehostingnow.com. I've had it for roughly six or more months in that time there have been two critical server failures resulting in a loss of all data, or corruption of all data. And some how recently, when I went to upload FTP (which is also incredibly buggy and half the time you can't even get in) it said my password wasn't correct. Upon further investigation it looks as if their login data server got corrupted and now I can't even log in to take my files down in order to try and bring them to a new site. It's a good thing I keep so many backups after being burned twice by that site. I really suggest that you find a better site than freehostingnow.com. I couldn't even get onto forums, get a help ticket, or request my password be sent to my email. It's just bad customer service, when I posted about what happened to the data files they simply said "hope you back-up" no sorry, no apologizes or anything. The server claims it has a lot of bandwidth but mysteriously it rises when you don't even have any hits to the site, sounds like a complete scam to me and I lived with it because my last site hostultra.com turned completely sour with their rampant use of flash and java adds that would get through to my site despite my repeated efforts to have them blocked, that coupled with their non-caring attitude about their freehost people, and the fact that myself and several other members of my site found that these adds were trojan horses. In my personal opinion finding Trap17.com was a godsend, all I need to do is be an active member of an already good looking community and I am able to get hosting. Seems far too easy to me, but I won't be one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

There are so many off these sites nowadays, all offering amazing space and bandwidth, but have no support at all and can just evaporate without any notice, also they have really slow servers,so i say either you pay for a web host and domain or live with he free hosts

I would check it out just because I'm adventurous and always looking for the best hosting service (Trap17 at the moment). However, I would take caution and register under a separate email to avoid spamming and such. I;ve found a lot of good hosts in the past, so I give a equal opportunity to all hosts out there. Don't read a book by its cover, and don;t accuse someone before they have been proven guilty is in a way my mind set to these Free Web Services.

Funny how we all flatter Trap17 here lol, why would we be here if it wasn't for the hosting in the first place Yeah there's too many "one month hosts" popping up and going, it sucks. Always check their site out really well, see their Terms ( TOS ), Copyright (if it says 2007 only it's quite new and that needs a precausion) etc. Also try checking their prices compared to the plans. (You KNOW that 100GB FTP and 0$ doesn't go well together, it's simple as that.) Many other ways, but it's getting pretty standard nowadays I suppose.

Most free hosts suck. They truely do, trap17, in my opinion is the best free option out there, plus i think its even better then some paid hosts. Paid hosts sometimes suck thats why i thiknk they need like a 10 day refund if wanted. Most don't IPS (most people know it is invision power board) on the otherhand actually do give refunds.

QUOTE(jlhaslip @ May 6 2007, 06:06 PM) Careful Imtay22.
I have also got involved in other Free Hosting services offering large storage and bandwidths and the next thing you know, your access is cut off, files gone and never any explanation. Also, use a disposable email address. Your Spam box might take a beating from these guys selling your address or Spammers getting hold of your account because they don't secure the server properly.
Best Free Hosting I have ever found is right here at the Trap17. But it might not hurt to check them out. Write a review back here sometime soon. that is the truth i have tried many of them and have loose some data some will promise even what you will never imagine but at last you will see that what you saw is not what you will get in this worl anything you work for thats what you will get so in trap17 you will work by posting and they will keep their promises by ensuring that your informations are kept alive

Dot5hosting Review
Probably the worst host I have ever used... (0) To any individual whom is planning on developing an account with Dot5Hosting (which is a website
hosting provider), and utilizes MySQL databases for their website, I would not recommend it...
Dot5Hosting promises you the best - however, they give you the worst support system ever (you have
to wait several hours or days to get a reply), a VERY small portion of the server, a
max_user_connection limit of 10 (meaning if ten or more people on your website are using the SQL,
you will frequently recieve repeative error notifications. Back to the support again - a major aspe....
Host-zero.com
raw deal (4) So I was checking out some of the OTHER free hosting options that are lying around out there, and I
answered an ad for totally FREE hosting with some group out there calling themselves
"host-zero.com". Now, they only allowed subdomains to be used (rather than using your own domain)
so I should have known SOMETHING was up before I got fed this little rat poison deally...but I was
tempted by the Devil and went for it. So I signed up, starting putting up my little web site...got
it looking REAL spiffy...and went one night to a good friend's house to show it off. We s....
Gameservers
Your favorite host? (5) Since a few years I'm renting game servers for wolfenstein: enemy territory, in these few years
I've used many gameserver hosts, there are many gameserver hosts, but they all have their
pro's and con's, so I'm going to give my opinnion about gameserver hosts I've used
in the past... EscapedTurkey.com Is probably the cheapest gameserver host of the planet, (35 slots
for 25 dollars) the way they handle the cheap pricing is by giving almost no support, and bulking
the servers with accounts. EscapedTurkey does it nicely tho, they have a pretty standa....
