Have you ever heard for co.sr domain ? It is also FREE and also with no ads. I think it is official name for Suriname, but I'm not sure and I don't have time to search again. You can register it here but use IE because their site is not optimized for Firefox  . I am using them for a long time and the only crash I remember was few days ago, which is now fixed. P.S. .hr domain is free for companies but who are from Croatia (Hrvatska), the same is for co.yu (ex-Yugoslavia, now Serbia & Montenegro). Greetz to ya all.

COM stands for "commercial". ST stands for SiTE. Using a .st domin name gives your visitors a less commercial image, therefore it is more suitable if you want to build a non-profit making website or just for interest. Personally I am using it too, it is user friendly and easy to use, the most important thing is it is FREE OF CHARGE.

well http://freedns.afraid.org/ is REALLY good it gives you 13,989 SUBDOMAINS for you to choose from and some of them are VERY good. It ALSO supports DNS which is excellent you are allowed 5 each if your're a free user... It's really really cool

Singapore domains are controlled and can be applied only by local companies with proper reg. numbers. recently they open a .sg domain and can ge applied by others not in the business. But .sg domain is not available to most reg.companies, I think I only came across a few of the so far. I think it will not be free at all like what you all mentioned.
