Thanks for the info, but it requires credit card number? Darn it, I hate being young, can't do anything. Also, I would love if they finally gave away free .com's. That would be so amazing.

I don't think you need to buy a package... the only package you have to "buy" is the "1 Year Domain frenzy" or something package, which is basically, the free .info domain. I never tried it, although I think they do this because a lot of people forget their subscription and end up renewing their domain automatically... and they find out when the bill comes... lol

There is no problem giving credit card to 1and1. They charge but they do reverse immediately. The problem is that if you don't cancel your domain within a year, you will be charged without any notice after a year. And for $6, you can as well get a .com/.net domain for 2 years. So, unless you are extra careful, it is not worth.

There was a site that gave you free .be hosting for one year also.. but i think the promotional period is over.

well im sorry to say but all those people looking for a tottally free .info domain name think again because ii went to register and it said that i need to purchase one of there packages and u know stuff that so people dont get your hopes up i know i did

lol and yeh i hope u all have a good day lol and ps going with the free domains on this site is definatly the way to go its the best site i have found so far and so far is a really long way let me tell you that now

No no no, you don't need a package. go to www.1and1.com, click the Domains tab, and type a domain with a .info TLD in the box next to the coparision table. Ensure that the domain you want is checked on the next page, and scroll down and click Continue. On the next page, click the first Select link (it's for the Instant Domain package). From there you go to the cart; if you want additional domains (up to five/5 per person) click "Add on a Domain" under "1) Start" on the left, otherwise, click continue. Just fill in the required information and click Continue on each page.
The domains on this site can be long; the URL to my school's site that I made was roslyn.busstop.trap17.com until I got www.mesivtaofroslyn.info which is way more memorable.

I look to me like they are giving the free domains onli to residents of United States and Canada ...

Question is.. who really wants the .info? most people would like .com since thats like the most general one out there. Not only that. I hear of other places that are even cheaper that come with a web hosting place and not just a domain. Everything is always a scam to make you buy something. Like everyone says.. nothing is ever free. But of course everyones moto is .. if it's free, it's for me .. hehe .. You just got to be careful out there. Someone is always trying to sucker you in for something. Alls I have to do is figure out a way to do the say.. then I could be rich.. and live the good life. doing ummmm.. nothing?

I had gotten a free domain. But sadly it turned out that the scripts had an error in them that gave out free domains. I didn't know this. So I got myself a free domain. And it worked well for a few months. Than all of a sudden, it started to not work. There would be times where it wouldn't work and it annoyed me. But I kept it. But than it didn't work and I didn't know why. I sent an email to them and they replied pretty fast. I think I sent the email Christmas Eve. But they replied that day. They said there was most likely an error in the scripts. So I didn't get it back. I could only get it back by paying for it. So I was mad at em. But oh well. But before than, my dad had bought me a domain. He just didn't give it to me. He got me the domain clan-aok.com It's cool.
