How can you forget Gmail? Its the best email provider. Gives 2.2 gb(ever increasing). Although you need to be invited to use it. Still in Beta stage. And hotmail.com, I dont like it but its free. Good list for someone looking for E-mail providers.

This is Big Mailbox.com, for webmasters... if you want to provide a professional e-mail service to your viewers. Useful, I think, if you own a top-level domain. And - if I am not mistaken - free too

I have had some hotmail account in the past, and they are alright, but they lack the storage space that most free accounts provide.

http://walla.com is a free 1GB email provider. They've been around for quite a while, but no one really knows about it. It lacks quite a few features though =/ AOL has also recently joined the email service competition. They now have an "AIM Mail" service. You can find it here: http://www.aim.com/aim_mail.adpIt basically integrates into your AIM messenger, so you can check your mail with a single click..no need to log in on the site. They give you a total of 2 gigs storage space. And like most other email providers it has the generic virus and spam protection. Works with pop3 email clients such as Thunderbird too...the one thing that I've never seen before is the "unsend" feature...only works when emailing other AIM mail users though...Personally, I haven't tried it. Heard a lot of good reviews though.

Hi Without Hotmail and Gmail this list incomplete. Strange that you didnt include 1 of the most popular free mail service i.e. Hotmail. I think you should include http://rediffmail.com also, they provide 1 Gig storage. List must include AMILMAIL also.

Imran, Does rediff have a search feature? I don't think so, although I am not sure. I had an account there a few months ago, and I dropped it then because I could not search through my mail. It was most irritating. But things may have changed now, I have no clue. Gmail offers some of the best organizational features. I've rarely seen something beta pick up so quickly. I just hope they make it official soon. I'll feel much more comfortable about gmail if their homepage had a nice "Sign up for a gmail account now" button Although there are so many invites around that I'm sure anyone wanting an account can find one anyway...

GMail is the best free email service and easily beats many paid services (except for the downside of not having custom address e.g. @me.com). Spamail, *coughs*Hotmail*coughs* is the worst email provider i have ever clapped eyes on.
