pilgrim, you're right. I used Hotmail -or spamail like you said- and I always had problem with it. Also there is an inactivity limit of 30 days. That means, that if you don't log in for 30 days, all emails in the inbox are deleted...

whenever I saw someone with a an e-mail address that ended in "@hotmail.com" my mind screamed
