I agree with all of you, after taking a second look i found out the same thing you did acidify. This web hosting is not worth your time people, too many small prints.
Someone in this forum in some post said that he/she had seen a website with free domains and free hosting for students but couldn't remember the address of the website. Well i was surfing around and i found a website thats similar, i think its the website he/she was talking about.the website is http://www.onesite.com/.
It offers a free domain with free hosting for students, individuals, families, and small groups. Their features are storage of 50mb, Transfer 3GB/m, 5 email accounts, MYSQL, PHP, frontpage, sitebulder, web stats, and blog. As you can see they don't have alot to offer like trap17 but for those of you who want a free web hosting that comes with free domains try this.

actually alot fo colleges have set up those kind of services for students, but i believe that its for the computer departments only or computer related.

I thought the same thing, apart from the free domain there is nothing special about it. Also SM could be right and it may actually be for computer related.

yea the free domain is nice but the 50mb kind of sucks but if u really want a domain i guess you would want this. I also might consider signing up it seems pretty good but like you said nothing special

Indeed, I looked into it myself and its a shotty hosting service. No such thing as a free .com or free .net and so on. Sadly we have to pay 7 bucks. Im sorry but 7 bucks isnt alot.
It is strange... how do they know that you are a student? I don´t think it is possible... do they have a list with the names of all students in the world? And what kind of students? primary? secondary? university?
I´ll stay here as well, obviously.... because I´m not a student and I´m afraid they will discover it

Sounds very interesting I will try to use it and tell if it has any advantages or disadvantages with trap 17. But anyways you can't get free domain, there should be some trick with that for sure. Eve for example if you register for dot tk domain and they offer you free domain with their .tk ending, the trick is that your site will not just load with that web address, but there will be a simple web forwarding system which will take at least 3-5 seconds to forward.
