If your hosted you only have to pay ( in the literally sense) 250 credits, but if you don't have hosting and want to get a domain then you pay 280. It seems a lot but if you post about 5 credits a day in lieu of getting that package it would take about a month and a half, and if you post about 10 credits a day simple math says you can get that in 28 days. Although you can post for as many credits as you want but those would be the minimum amount of credits you would need in order to get it as fast as possible while maintaining forum protocol on what constitutes as a good post. So try to spread yourself out to as many forums as possible and that way you don't get yourself trapped on one forum, and I would recommend checking out the introduction forum as that is a good place to earn some quick credits and meet new people as well, but if you want to cut through all that and be able to help trap17 out purchase credits here. I would get the 185 credit one since that will cut down on your posting by a few weeks based on the formula I given up above

I have a question about this too. If your credits go below 0, then do you automatically lose the domain? Or does it stay until you lose your hosting?

Also, if you do get the domain, does the rate at which you ahve to post (credit ratio) increase? So, for example, would I have to post 900 characters instead of 600 to get 1 credit?

No, once you pay 250 credits for the domain you will get to keep the domain for the whole year.

Wait a sec mike... I thought you had to be hosted for this. Does that mean if I terminate my hosting and get 280 credits I could get a free domain name that I could use for, lets say my computing host account? I can't post enough to get up to 250 when i'm hosted but I can get up to 280 when not hosted in a snap...

Well, that's a relief.

I'm thinking you could make an alternative package with the following conditions:

1. You only need 200 credits for this package, so the package for non-hosted would be 230.
2. You must post an ad to computinghost on your main page and all other pages of the website (it will be sized proportionately based on how many pages there are on the website.)
3. You will have to post 3/2 (1.5) times as hard to get the same amount of credits. (But this is no excuse for spamming!)
4. The credits get reset to 3 at the beginning of this offer. If the credits dip below 0, the domain name is lost immediately.

It's a very interesting feature and I'm sure it will push people to post more and interesting posts. I firstly registered for the ultra cool free web hosting feature, but now you're even offering free domain ! It's a great idea and it makes me wanna post more to get there but yeah it's still a long way for me. Anyway, I would like to thank the staff of trap for the great service and I hope this service will still be up when I get the 280 credits. Keep up the good work !

I don't think anyone would ever go for this package. I would much prefer shooting for the 280 and never worry about having to post 1.5 times as hard, or about placing ads on my website. 80 extra credits aren't that hard to get if you are dedicated enough. Besides people who work hard enough for this aren't going to want their domain to disappear if the accidently dip below into negatives.

What if it was lowered tp 100? I'd think about 20% of people would go for this, not knowing what they're getting into.
