Free Dial-up?..

YungOdo
My dsl modem is not working right at the moment so until the dell people come and fix it is there any
isp's that offer free trials besides netzero and juno, because i used those already and my juno trial
expired earlier and im not sure how much time i have left on my free netzero account, they are suppose
to be coming some time this week to fix the modem and i have important things to do so for the time
being i am going to have to use a dial-up connection, so if you can name any isp's that offer free trials
with no credit card activation would be great..

Now why would dell be fixing your modem or are they going to fix the modem card inside your computer, because the modem troubleshoot is through your ISP provider. Also I would look into adding a WIFI PCI card to your computer that way you won't have to worry about dial up as you will bumming off a connection from someone else. Netgear products are pretty good so I would star at their site and look into what kind of cards that can fit your system.

Actually i do have a wifi card inside of my laptop but the network i connect to doesnt show anymore and the ones that usually appear are secured. I had this problem before with my modem and dell people are the ones who came and fixed it. The problem has to do with the wiring in my complex basement but not sure what it is..

Sry for double posting but come to think about it your right, its verizon who i called the time my modem was having problems, i kinda get mixed up because when the buttons on my laptop had broke the dell people where the ones who came. But my wifi doesnt pick up any reachable networks in the area of my house that are unsecure so my only choice
is to use a dial-up connection..

You should check to see if your ISP provides you with a back-up dial-up connection for when your DSL goes down; mine does, but it's never really down, so i have no need for it. If they don't provide you with one, then i suppose you're stuck with these hour-based, free dial-up services.
