I think it looks ok. What is the shadow thing though? At the left, it looks like a pokemon. =)

I like it for the most part. The text I think could be a little more legible but I am not really an expert so I could not tell you exactly what to do to help. Maybe something that spreads out the letters a little more or a bit less of a border. Other than that it is good in my opinion, especially for the first attempt.

Font looks ok. Drop the anti-alias to make it crisp as the font itself is a bitmap font.

The airplane should not have any shadow since the background is dark on the left. IF you insist to have the shadow, make it blur and have the foreground plane to be white color.

Other than those listed above, your first try is considered good, you have the grip of making userbars biggrin.gif

I agree with onscreen. For a first attempt, it is very good and you do seem to have the hang on userbars already. Just follow up on the tips that onscreen gave, and then it will look almost perfect.

How do you drop the anti-alias? Great advise. biggrin.gif

I agree with most of you guys. You should use a different font like different spacing and sizes, as well as anti aliasing. I think that the airplane should have the shadow dropped, and have a little more space between the fuselage and the wings so you can distinguish that it is a plain.
