I've been looking for a new filehost recently, and I came to FileFront.com. For registering, you can get unlimited space for file/image hosting. I've been using it for a while now and I've been really satisfied with it. You just have to make sure that your files are completely legal, and they will be untouched. You can even share your files to other people. I'm planning on uploading my unlicensed manga files there to link to my site. I think their service is great, though I want opinion from people who have already been using it. Is it stable and can I rely on it in the long run? (I don't care about downtimes now and then as long as the service will last) If you have any other comments about this service, please inform me.

well i have been using it for a long time. I have only had a few hours of downtime and that was only once. The speed you get when you are downloading something off it arent always that good. Like somtimes you get like 10kb/s. But when you are uploading it is really quick. But overall i think it is very reliable.

I don't thni kthe filefront server is very good. Speeds are often very slow, not to mention they often have just a few severs hosting a file so you often need to wait in line. A much better alternative (in my opinnion) is called RapidShare. Teh only big problem about this filehoster (In my opinnion again) is that there is a 10 mb download restriction per hour...

There's such a restriction!? I didn't know that... Well, I'm trying it out now. I'm going to download that 11MB thing I uploaded and try to download something else right after. The download speeds aren't good like you said, but I guess we have to sacrifice for free service. I don't want to use RapidShare right now because I hate having to try and keep my file expiring and losing my links. One time, I uploaded something in RapidShare and the link it gave me was the previous thing I uploaded. Thus, I had to re-upload it again... It got to be tedious in the end, but oh well...

I was uploading fine today until there came an option where you had to choose the game/software program you're uploading. Unfortunately for me, I was uploading neither. I wasn't able to upload it properly... sadly... Anyway, I decided not to stick to it because of that. Since I've uploaded like 8 files already, I decided to leave them there and have them linked to my site. At least it was good while it lasted. I got a few files in before they started "filtering" them and segregating them as either game or software. I guess I'll have to retreat to Filelodge.com that offers a lot less than FileFront (500MB instead of unlimited). It doesn't seem to be as picky as FileFront when it comes to file uploads... Sigh, I was starting to like it too... Or would anyone recommend me a similar service (not Rapidshare/Megaupload and similar stuff) that doesn't have much downtime and has proved itself reliable? FileLodge goes down quite often and it annoys me cause I really want to get over uploading all my stuff for linking...

Yeah, Filefront.com is pretty good for hosting huge files, or even small ones as well. I've been using it for a while now to upload videos and stuff. But rapidshare is also pretty good. They don't delete your stuff even if the file is inactive for like a few months. But the downside is that you have to wait almost a minute sometimes, that a long wait compared others, then you have to type in the code...

filefront shoudl really make an other option for people uploading things other than games. But i guess since thats the reason they opened the file host they want to try and stick to it as a games only place. But still a other option would be great. I hope they decide to add that option soon. Just want to let everyone know if you dont click anything and just try to upload your file it wont upload for you.

Yeah, that's why I was asking for another host with the same features that is NOT Rapidshare and Megaupload. I meant something that you have to register for (free of course) and where you get your own storage space and you are able to host or hotlink your files from your page. FileLodge is a similar thing, but the downtimes are getting to be annoying. Does anyone else know something similar to those two?

I think it's a great filehost. I am able to download at a max of 150ish kb/s, although I have exceeded that rate per file.



You can still upload the filename under a different or game title such as anything.zip/rar/whatever and it should still work. If they do identify the file as being non-game related they remove it, but I haven't encountered a problem as of yet. This may not be the best work-around, but until they add alternative choices it's the best option .

I use yousendit.com for most of my file hosting. Last I checked they will save a 1gb file, but for only 7 days.

I tried it out, but after it uploaded it, it gave me an error because I didn't choose a genre... Thus, I had to re-upload it, but it gave me the same thing... It's really annoying, and I sure hope they don't delete my files... I was able to add other stuff before they implemented the game/software choices thing...

I used to think that filefront was good, but not anymore because the download speeds which you get are quite low, and then the files are easily removed by the hosts themselves, so if I was you I would use another file host, one of the best out there is rapidshare. Most definitely the best free one click file hoster in the world. lol
