I also like Fantasy Fiction very much! My favourite authors are Sara Douglass, David Eddings and Raymond Feist. The Riftwar Saga and the Troy Game are brilliant. Belgariad isn't too shabby either. I want to read the Song of Ice and Fire though, apparently that series is really good.

Cool choice there. smile.gif I've heard of the Troy Game and apparently I got told by someone that the Song of Ice and Fire are pretty good, but I'm not sure, oh yeah I also forgot to say Jonathan Stroud, the first and second of the Bartimaeus Trilogy by him are pretty good.

Ah, I saw some of my own favourite authors there. Terry Practchett; I love the Discworld books, especially the ones about the Watch in Ankh-Morpork or the witches. I especially liked the last one that was published in paperback, "The Monstrous Regiment". Let's see, Edgar Allen Poe, HG Wells, JG Ballard, Ray Bradbury, Elinor Brent Dyer, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Alexander McCall Smith, CS Lewis, Ursula leGuin, Manley Wade Wellman, Wilkie Collins, Charlotte Bronte. That's what I can think of, off the top of my head. Probably some others. I also like poetry, by Christina Rossetti, Robert Frost and Gerard Manley Hopkins.

Hello. Since most of you are native english speakers (and readers), I wanted to ask you a question.

A small investigation about most popular books (94)
The question is very simple, what is your favourite boook? And why? I have also added a small pool
about how many books do you read each year. Anyway my favourite is L.A. Confidential written by
James Ellroy. It's a very good police story with a intriguing plot, but it's also a
masterpiece of politic and social analize. The power games of institutions, the corruption that have
attacked police and government and the general undeground atmosphere are the pillars fo this
beautiful book. It isn't a simply police book, but a fresco of a society and of a period of ....

  7. Has Anyone Heard Of Robin Hobb?
    She's a great fantasy author =) (0)
My sister chanced upon her first book, the assasin's apprentice, but she was not really
impressed by it. However, as fate would have it, 2 years later, she came by its sequel, the royal
assasin, and was hooked onto it. Following that, she bought up all the rest of the books writtin by
robin hobb. Currently, she has about 9 books divided into 3 series. I strongly recommend her, as
    she is a good writer.....
  8. Dan Brown
thoughts on the author Dan Brown (10)
After reading DaVinci Code, I had to have more. Dan Brown is great! I read Angels and Demons
which is definitely one of my top-10 favorite books. I enjoyed Digital Fortress, too, but it was
obvious that it was one of his earlier works. Any thoughts on Brown? Which book of his is your
    favorite?....
