| | Hi everyone I was wondering which IM have you used or are you using now?
I have MSN, Yahoo Messenger, and AIM installed on my computer right now. But I use MSN most of the time since it's where most of my contacts are. I tried Trillian as well but I abandoned it since it doesn't have audio or video capabilities.
I've also heard of open source IMs but I haven't really tried them.
Any ideas or experiences? |

yahoo, doodle is the best! aim sux, the compatabliity between versions is horrible, and msn is just pure shiat..... plus, yahoo has a better interface! go yahoo!

Yeah yahoo indeed has the best user interface I think. But considering most of my contacts don't use yahoo... Is there a really decent IM out there that supports all of yahoo, MSN, aim?

I think you should either try Trillian or GAIM. They are made to support AIM, MSN, Yahoo and ICQ. Try them and see which one you like better.

AIM is the best in my opinion. Although I've never tried Yahoo, I can say that MSN and ICQ aren't good at all. MSN really sucks ass, it has a horrible graphical interface, and the layout just really sucks...you can't adjust your settings easily...if you're even lucky to figure out where you adjust your settings! ICQ isn't as bad as MSN, but it's pretty close. Having to send people invites to join your buddy list kind of defeats the purpose. It's really retarded in my opinion.

I have AOL Instant Messanger, but that's just because it defaulted with the software. Normally, I don't chat very much, but I do find it very easy to use and customize. The only thing I don't like is the fact that I cant put up my own Icons...or at least i havn't figured out how to do that yet.

Yahoo messenger is best . Its interface is very good. it is very easy to use also. I can also send SMS with this.

i currently use msn messenger, and yahoo messenger. I hate msn alot though, for the last few days its been having some real trouble! good thing i got yahoo as a backup

I believe the answer would be different from one region and another. I am from Indonesia, from where I come, MSN is the most popular Instant Messenger. I have tried all from Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, to MSN...and I would say MSN is the best because not only it is faster, it is simple to use. Not to mention that it is not that big in size. Plus, it is recommended by Microsoft. LoL

from the simple and near-distancemessenger winchat(type winchat in run of microsoft windows) to long-distance.in course of renovation ,there come forth many good messenger like Yahoo and msn,both of them are the best.beside them,icq and aim are popular with many people at present.i have msn and icq account which is very useful to me.

I have installed ICQ, MSNM, YIM and I am using it all except YIM. Most of my friends have ICQ so I spend most of my time, when I'm online, there. MSN has better interface and it supports video/audio conferences, that's why I like it. I also have mIRC installed but I don't think it is an Instant Messenger, this is a chat client. Anyway, this is service I use most often because most of my friends know only how to connect to IRC Server and chat  So, I'm almost every night online at irc.krstarica.com. Greetz!

I usually use Yahoo! Messenger. Sometimes I use ICQ, MSN, or Windows Messenger. Depend on computer I use (I use random computer on random place). Almost all of my friends just have Yahoo! Messenger and MSN, so now I often use that. But, I don't know why if I use Yahoo! Messenger, my computer should be error...

My favorite is ICQ, but I try to avoid instant messengers because they require 3rd party servers, so I usually use Microsoft's Net Meeting, mainly because 90% of the people I chat with use a wireless local area network in my city, and I am a part of it, so, it's free, it's fast, and I can engoy the benefits of voice/video conferensing. (Although ICQpro can do that, it's not free). Plus, I find it easy to remember somebody's local IP adress than an ICQ number.

What is your favorite BT client? (90) I use BitTornado because it's very reliable for me, although at times, the GUI seems to freeze,
and I get very mad when that happens because I leave the computer on for a long time, so when I get
back, I expect a finished download. I've also tried BitComet. I don't know if this is me,
but the torrent seems to take SO much longer to finish downloading than it does on BitTornado. If
you've experienced this, post below. Shareaza is another client that I've tried, but it
doesn't seem to handel torrents very well.....
