Faster Page Loading... - Firefox Browser ONLY

bigboss
This will make your pages load even faster.

1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows: (by double clicking them)

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. (I changed mine to 100, works great.)

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

No : pipelining still use only one connection, but it optimize it.
Pipelining was introduced in 1996 with HTTP 1.1, and IE still doesn't understand it...

Thank you for this information. I have been using Firefox for about a month and the pages would load so slow, but this helped a whole lot. Of course, do you think that 100 requests would affect the server the browser is trying to reach? That could potentially be a pain for someone if that is what is happening.

I have already seen these changes in settings a lot of times on the net. And also in this forum... Everyone seems to want us to change that. Anyway, I dodn't know about the fasterfox plugin but I won't try it since my connection speed is already good to me.

Do u people have any idea of making IE7 work faster, everybody's telling about Firefox, no one seems to care about IE users!!!

yes i have seen this a million times. thing is if u have a fast connection then your computer cant really get any faster than it is or your browsing speeds. its only if u have the slowest possible broadband connection then u'll see a difference but other than that... no need really. i did not notice a single difference in speeds. just get the addon called "fasterfox" and it will do your speeding for u. take care.
