| | i installed FF3 (which works great) on my flash drive for testing perposes (web desighning). anyways yesterday at school since i had time i went to the library to use it but i realise that my history and bookmarks where not saved on the flash even though i imported (duh i know they're on my hard drive).
i'd like to know how can i put my history and favorites (or at least my favorites) on my flash drive and how to make sure that the browser knows that and that's what it uses not the one on the hard drive.

Flash And Transparency
(4) Hi folks. I want to know if its possible to modify the transparency of an image in flash to give a
gradual transparent gradient? EG like the T17 banner where the text "Trap17" reflects. I know i
can do this in the GIMP but i need the background of the image/text to be transparent, and GIF is
the onyl format i can do that reliably and of course GIF is indexed and so i cant have a gradual
fade effect. Im really stuck on this one and im no Flash expert so any ideas? Ive attached a
screenie. Thats the effect i want (the black background is there so the effect is easy....

There is a need (1) With Flash Player 9 on practically every PC, a lot of web developers are moving to Abobe Flex, Flash
and Actionscript as a development platform. I've seen a few posts related to the platform and I
feel that a dedicated forum is more than warranted. Flash discussions could fall under web design
as a sub-forum, while actionscript could fall under Programming Languages. There is also MXML to
consider. It's Adobe's custom mark-up language for flash components. But these are just
suggestions. Hopefully forum admins will look further into this issue and find it vi....

Flash As3 Question
Alternitives to root (2) Hi. Basically, the MovieClip(root) thing is dodgy at the best of times. Besides - it's not
recommended to use root at all. In fact, it's highly discouraged. I've seen plenty of posts
about this, but for the life of me, I can't find anything about what else I should use. What
alternative should I be using to access properties/mc's/etc from the root/parent time lines??

Problem With My External Hard Disk
(7) I have a Sony VAIO 100GB External Hard drive that has recently been acting up. I got it from eBay
about 8 months ago. Yesterday I accidentally pulled the plug on it and I accidentally used windows
vista (which currently has no anti-virus program). Today when I turned on the computer it said
'Unable to write to disk, please make sure that the device is plugged in' I did the
'safely remove hardware' thing, but then the computer became really slow... So I waited and

How to (if possible) stream a flash (*.swf) movie over the net (4) Hello, Searched through the forum but didn't find any hits on how to do this. I've designed
a page that has an embeded flash movie (*.swf format). The page works great when I test it on my
local server but when I post it on the net the movie (about 2 megs in size) takes a while to load.
Is there any way to stream the movie as opposed to have the browser download it all at once? Any

Sony Vaio Cd/dvd Rom Drive Makes So Much Noise!
It's not just a little bit of noise (12) OK ever since i have bought this computer the CD/DVD ROM drive has made so much noise that i wanted
to jump off a cliff haha. It only makes that much noise though when i am installing games or
software. When i burn of just play music or copy music it doesnt make near that much noise. When i

System Does Not Detect Dvd/cdrom Drive
(21) so i came home from school and my brother told me that my mom's laptop doesn't detect the

Dvd Drive Problem
It Wont Read Anything! (10) Recently my DVD drive was playing everything, today i put a dvd disk in, it says nothing comes up
with no auto play or nothing loads at all. so i go to my computer and load from there, it dont load.
It says please insert disk... Im like WTF so i put a cd disk in and the same exact thing happened. i

Sata Hard Drive Not Recognized By Windows
WD 250gb SATA hard drive not working (12) Hi there! I recently re-installed windows on my 250 gb WD SATA hard drive. I had a 50 gb
windows partition and the rest for files. First thing that happened was my system partition
