Why Are There Errors? - Why are there errors in some topics I post?

anonymal
Why is it that when I view some of my posts it says error? Cant these topics by me be viewed by other users? I was wondering if this error is on the database of trap17.com forums. Ive had this problem also in my WAP community site some months ago. It was due to the quotes and double quotes people post. But Im not sure what is the problem in here. Invision Power Board should have fixed this bug before. What do you think?

When you try to view a topic and you get the board error, read the error message. It'll say either you don't have the permission to view the topic or topic may have broken link.

This is when a moderator unapproves a topic and makes it invisible or when a topic has been moved to the spam area.

Another topic you cannot view is STAFF topics, which are only viewed by moderators of Trap17.

There's nothing wrong with Trap17's forum database.

In addition, there are so many posts on this forum that moderators can't move back and forth to label those posts as broken or missing, so anything you click is little more than a hopeful guess that the post will still be there. Happy hunting smile.gif

I just noticed while browsing thru some subforums here in trap that the icons for the threads
don't specify if I have made posts on the thread. I've been to other forums and they have
customized icons for threads like if a thread is locked, active (hot topic) or if you have posted
something there. I know some of you would think this wouldn't be necessary but I think it's
important especially to prevent double-posting on threads, repeating threads and stuff. That's
just my observation anyway. What do you think?...
  3. A "save As Draft" Button - saving your topics or posts for later editing (13)
i realized while typing earlier i had the urge to find a "save as draft" button. i guess i was so
fixated with my blog. but anyway, my point is what if the forum was to include this feature so
whatever you write, you could save them for posting later on. i was thinking maybe some people would
have some stuff to do and they have to shut down the computer (not everyone can leave their computer
on, and that would be a waste of energy), but they have already written their topics/posts.
moreover, some people would have second thoughts in posting their topics so they could sav...
  4. Show Sig Once In Topics - (3)
Buffalo this is just for you http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/f/5545 Show sig once in a
topic to help with load time on a page for users that just happen to be the frequent posters in a
particular thread. We have this over at IPBG and it seems to be effective, and obviously not a
    large modification to do....
  5. Latest Topics - that can't be viewed (1)
I have noticed there are numerous topics that can't be viewed by normal forum users. These
topics would include sig requests that must be approved by a mod and topics for mods themselves.
Even though these topics can't be read by normal forums users, they still appear on the latest
topic and post lists at the bottom of every page. I think it would make more sense to stop them
from being visible in the list if the user viewing the list doesn't not have the required access
to view the post itself. Many times I have tried open a topic from the lists only to be...

hi, i have been doing teh fourm thing for ever now. i have been to many fourms, and the thing that
lacks here is a comprehensive support topic on the master fourm index. If u would also consider a
webmaking support master topic as well, becaus ei have couple of webmaking realted Qs and no where
to post. Please ocnsider all this moderators. other wise this fourm is very good. also thnkas for

  7. Single Topic For Netbux Referrals - Since so many people create new topics for referrals (2)
I've seen too many Netbux topics and it's driving me nuts. Newly registered people post a
new topic and shove referral links into our faces. Maybe there should be a single pinned topic for
people who want to advertise their referral links. I've seen many people make a new Netbux
topic, say what it does, and shove their link. I suggest that the topic will be about people
stating why you should use their referral link. Plus, in a single topic, the people won't have
to be persistent and make you want to use their referral link LESS. Those Netbux-Referral...
  8. Too deep - forum topics (6)
i like the old forum order before better than the current one. currently, one has to dig deep to
read the topics buried under sub-sub-directories... and forum structure is very confusing. since i
am just on dialup with limited online time, i would like to save on the number of links i have to
click before i get to read a topic... could we re-organize how our forum is arranged to make
topic more accessible in the least number of clicks? a good forum structure would have a MAIN
DIR+SUBDIR > TOPIC, where a forum member or guest would get on a topic of choice on his...
