Okay, I am having trouble saving changes to a .css file using the cpanel filemanager. Basically it worked for me a couple of times (trying to edit "compiled.css") but now it just throws this error at me every time I click save!! I cannot delete, move, rename or edit the file at all using an ftp manager or even the cpanel. I have been forced to take my site offline until I have access to update the css... Please help! Please state where this file is located. I've reviewed your structure to 1 level and did not find such .css file. Thank you.

well an obvious thing i would say is check the permissions on that file.

Permissions are currently set to 0755: That is - Owner read/write/execute - Group read/execute - Public read/execute All very standard settings, so I don't know what's going on... my site is still remaining offline

Tasks Performed for you :- 1. Copied compiled.css to compiled.css.copy. 2. deleted compiled.css 3. chmodded compiled.css to 644 4. reset ownership of that file. Check now.

Check now. Okay, thank you very much for the help, but it didn't fix it!! I have no idea what's going on here. Cpanel just gives me a permission denied error trying to rename compiled.css.copy back to compiled.css BUT, I have found a solution!!! I was doing some research about this problem and apparantly is is quite well known... Joomla does something funny with active folders that it uses. Using Joomlaxplorer (plugin for Joomla) I was able to get around the problems with cpanel and ftp programs it renamed and edited successfully . I'm a bit annoyed I can't use an ftp program for it like everything else, but since it seems joomlaxplorer is the only option, and certainly works well, I'll stick with it!! (I feel a Joomla tuturial coming on  )

That is a interesting quirk, and it seems it should be fixed by the joomla guys; did your research find anything to the statement that they tried or are trying to fix that? This maybe see ma bit far fetched, but it would seem as though they are trying to monopolize by making sure that you can use only there software to make changes to there file structure. But like you mentioned in your earlier post that if this is a well known problem it should have been fixed by now.

No I didn't find any announcements detailing a fix, but since they are working on 1.5 it'll be okay for that version. Nevertheless it get's even more confusing. After editing and renaming back to compiled.css with Joomlaxplorer, I found that this file got greyed out in joomlaxplorer!! Now I'm getting confused. So, now I can't edit the file or rename/move etc. with Joomlaxplorer but instead, it now works in cpanel!!! How wierd It's pinging me between the two programs. Really odd... Must have something to do with the fix Opaque tried and resetting permissions etc. but to work initially with the plugin and then not to is odd...

Page Load Error When Accessing Cpanel

File Manager Not Working
(2) When I goto upload files using the file manager(legacy mode), the files do not upload correctly.
Every time I try to upload a file, it takes the time to upload it, but the file always comes out

Issues Uploading A File [resolved]
(3) Hi there. I have been trying to upload a zip file only about 2mb to my account through CPanel.
First I tried uploading it to a new folder in public_ftp. Then i tried to put it in the main part
of public_ftp. I also tried the same thing in public_html. It shows the file being uploaded, and i
get 100 %, but alas, when i look in the folders nothing is there. Is there a restriction on .zip
files? I have had no problems as of yet uploading htm and html pages. Please let me know ASAP.

Unable To Replace .png File In Directory
Can't even delete it using Cpanel (7) I can't delete a little file using file manager in Cpanel. I'm trying to delete a .png
image, actually, I'm trying to replace it. The response comes back as a success, but when I

Cannot login as it states "Login Attempt Failed!" (4) Before I was able to login within my Cpanel without problem but now I try to login and it states

the HTML editor on computinghost is long gone. The cPanel is the newer version but as always newer
isn't always better. So what if they have a new cpanel (ensim did the same thing)…the fact is
they left old software on for years when much newer and more secure versions are ready. Hell, php6
is about to come out. So in two years plesk, cpanel and ensim will finally go to php6 when php 8 is
available. Just the inablilty to apply security patches alone is enough to nev....

I can't edit one of my site's directories (7) My website is split into two directories: "site", which is my main site's content, and "forum",

Ftp Problem

Cannot Delete Folder After Lost Ftp Connection
permission not given to delete file (7) hello, well i had created a subdomain and was transferring files into the folder i was disconnect
from the server many times while uploading the files via ftp once when i reconnect, i saw a file
with an unusual name something starting with preftp... i tried deleting the file, but it said that

How Do I Make A (video) File Smaller?
(11) Ok, I want to host a video that I have in my computer, but the problem is that the video is too
big, 790MB. My host can't handle a file that huge so I was wondering if there is any way I can
make the video file in my computer smaller? I don't want to mess up the video and make it
