| | I use Gmail, but I have set up Eudora to retrieve the emails. Eudora is very *crisp* with little to no fluff.. just what you need when you view 100,000 advertisements on my way to school/work . |

Mozilla Thunderbird is definitely my favorite program. It's free, there's few glitches in it, very customizable, very useful, doesn't lag your computer if you have it open constantly... definitely better than MS Outlook.

in my childhood i tried MS Outlook. I like it some features: 1. truly html browser 2. imap connection But at present i use Mosilla Tthunderbird. I love it because: 1. small size to download for installing. 2. Built-in RSS capabilities, powerful quick search, spell check as you type 3. leading-edge junk mail filters. Each time you mark messages as spam, "Thunderbird improves its filtering so you can spend more time reading the mail that matters". 4. enterprise and government grade security features including S/MIME, digital signing, message encryption, support for certificates and security devices. 5. protecting from many worms and viruses 6. install extensions to add new features, or change the look of your browser with themes Very nice program! and free!.

Mine is with Gmail too. Gmail, strictly speaking is not an email client, but a webbased email service. The email client in this case is your browser, no matter it is Internet Explorer, Firefox or Mozilla. I like webbased email clients because they are more safe in general. The worst thing is, of course, you cannot store your email addresses, and your contact locally in your computer and so if your service provider is down, there is no way you can retrieve your contacts. But the good thing about not storing your addresses locally is that viruses are less likely to spread by mere ready certain files in your computer. A lot of spam can be avoided by using webbased email. On top of this, the webbased email systems usually don't require you to dowload everything before you read. You can avoid computer viruses from being downloaded to you computer through this route.

Bittorrent Client
- What is your favorite BT client? (90)
I use BitTornado because it's very reliable for me, although at times, the GUI seems to freeze,
and I get very mad when that happens because I leave the computer on for a long time, so when I get
back, I expect a finished download. I've also tried BitComet. I don't know if this is me,
but the torrent seems to take SO much longer to finish downloading than it does on BitTornado. If
you've experienced this, post below. Shareaza is another client that I've tried, but it
doesn't seem to handel torrents very well....

Best Messaging Client
- (18)
What do you think is the best messaging client? Right now, I must say Trillian, because it allows
multiple acount log ins at the same time. But it's only for windows, and I'm not sure if
there's a linux version...and I am about to switch to linux. So once I switch to linux, i'd
probably go for Gaim. Although it does not allow multiple accounts, it does allow IRC chatting. and
furthermore, it is open source ! there's a lot of room for improvement...but im not sure how
much active its community is. And although both Gaim and Trillian can be invi...

Filesharing
- Searching for a private filesharing client (5)
Hey all, I'm looking for a small but simple tool, to exchange files with friends and family. I
know that all IM programs have built in file-sharing capability but that is not quite enough for me.
All I need is a little tool which would allow resumes and possibly secure (encrypted) transfers.
What I'm looking for is kind of like FTP but server and client in one program and very simple to
set up. For those of you who know what WASTE is, it comes pretty close but it would be good if it
also would allow unsecured transfer just for ease of use. I'd love to us...
Trillian 3.1 Basic Or Pro
- Overview of Trillian IM client (11)
Trillian an IM client that merges your existing Yahoo, MSN, AIM, ICQ, and IRC. I like it because it
frees up some space, other than having all 5 programs if you even use all five you have one and it
also uses less resources this way. You can use audio and video with it and it even can support a LAN
messenger for just the computers in your network. Nifty huh. Well you can CLICK HERE to find out
more and download it....
Azureus (bit Torrent Client) Problem
- (5)
Hi everybody! I'm having some difficulties with my bit torrent client - Azureus. When I
download files (I usually download files larger than 400MB), the download stops at a random
percentage (but usually at the second half of the file)! 1st issue: I was downloading a 700MB
file, and by the time it got to 99.3%, the download speed hit zero. I was stuck in a "swarm" of
other bit torrent clients that have also downloaded 99.3% of the file, and nothing is
happening!!! I left it alone for about 4-5 hours, came back, and still 99.3%! I was
so mad,...
