You have to mach your spy strength against the other persons sentry strength. If you are 10 times stronger than their sentry you should be able to sabotage. Start with the weakest weapons first, and if you don't get caught go to the next strength level and try again.

Ah, so NilsC finally adjusted spy money formula. I was wondering why the extra money gained from covert units was not as much as before.

Good change. Previously, before the last reset, it is possible to get more money from spies with high spy level than regular units.

At covert level 11 each spy/sentry will make more money than a trained / untrained soldier. I did this to stop the one sided armies that some are building. If you don't have any weapons and all spies and sentries then nobody can attack you (because your army is to small) and there is no way of protecting your weapons from sabotage and no way of attacking back.
