| | This is one of the coolest new things I've come across in a long time. Go to getdropbox.com and watch the video that is included. It has a pretty descriptive narrative.
Basically what this software does is allow basically allows you to maintain a folder that is accessable from any computer. Simmilar to how you can just upload a file to a website and re access it from anywhere else. This gives it a very attractive UI and also makes it pretty simple so the not so tech savvy parents will be able to easily upload pictures and files to you. Supposedly the technology is super fast, but I'm going to have to assume that it's still based off your net speed so a dial up modem would still take hours to transfer large files.
Either way, it'll be nice to be able to easily swap files from my office PC to my home PC without any upload download hassles. What do you guys think?
the link included also has a spot to sign up for the closed beta. |

At first - I was worried about how well this would work, and of course security. Having seen the video - I'm very interested in this. Of course - there are the privacy concerns. However, for collaborative jobs - this is a must. Fantastic find. I espically love how it only sends the changes.

Office 2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh B2tr Released
(6) Microsft has released 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 Technical Refresh (B2TR) for Microsoft
internal use. This means this beta system will be available to all Microsoft employees 7 days before
the public release. The public release of B2TR will not be announced publicly by Microsoft until 14
september. This b2TR promise to remove all those bugs present in Beta 1 and give the user a fast
hand experience of Office 2007 final release. The final release date of the full version has not yet

Microsoft Office 2007 Beta 2
(6) So has anyone downloaded and tried this yet?
http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/be...en/default.mspx It's the entire suite for free
and it's really cool. It's such a huge difference from the Office 2000 I've been using
for years. It's a big 450 mb download but I think it's worth it. You have to log in to
download it but all you need is a hotmail account and you don't even need to give them legit
info or anything. I just put in garbledy gook for all fields besides email. The installer is fairly
smart and will remove previous versions....
Firefox 2.0 Beta 1
(13) If you've given the newly-released Firefox 2.0 Beta 1 a spin, you've probably noticed that
there aren't a whole lot of eye-popping new features. However, there are a few subtle
improvements that make it a nice upgrade. In addition to built-in spellchecker, Firefox 2.0 also
has close buttons on every individual tab - a much-needed feature (especially on Mac OS X.)
There's also better (but still not great) RSS integration. When you click on a site's feed
icon (at the far end of the address bar), a preview page with the option to choose your feed rea....
Ie 7 Beta 3
(18) Well as I was updating and reinstalling everything on my computerm i came across microsoft ie7
browser since i was going to update it anyways and notice that beta 3 was out all i can say its more
stabled and alot faster i think also the interface is a bit more organized as well. They brought
down some of the icons to the tab bar so the the menu options are not taking up a huge amount of
space up top. but other then that it's comign along nicely i think being somewhat updated and
with a cleaner look as well.....
Windows Vista Beta Available?
There is one going around (60) I have heard and that there is a Windows Vista Beta version going around. I have been to a torrent
site and found few there. But I’m not going to download it because i'm guessing it is illegal.
Do any of you here have Windows Vista Beta? If you do what are the system requirements for it to
run. And i have heard there are few versions of this beta, one without the graphical 3D software
(decreasing system requirements), and one with it. Is this true?....
Yahoo Mail Beta
New Look for Yahoo Mail (38) hi friends, Yahoo is supposedly testing its new interface for Yahoo Mail. It looks more like MS
Outlook with the folders etc in a left pane, the mail box on the top half of the right and preview
on the bottom. Also a tabbed view if multiple mails are open. Just like Lotus Notes for those who
have used it. http://patcavit.com/2005/09/14/y-mail-beta-impressions/

Skyos Beta 8.5 Better But Still Very Beta
An alternative OS+GUI, a bit like BeOS (0) Mostly for entertainment and to see whether Robert Szeleney (one-man shop) has made much progress on
it, I downloaded and installed SkyOS 5 beta 8.5 on my main basement x86, an eMachines T2958 with
add-in NVidia. I had tried 8.4 but had some issues. Fewer issues in 8.5. This is way-alternative,
far left (or right, rather) of Linux. For an early beta it's pretty slick. Looks and works a
bit like BeOS, but more current and with a custom GUI dev system (SkyGI) that beats the heck out of
X, IMHO. Sky recognized most of my hardware without trouble except no sound. The pa....
