It depends on your requirements... If you want a kids website up and running in a day or 2, frontpage will be the best option. Do not look for dreamweaver since it requires some sort of expertise knowledge to work on....
But if it is a professional website that you are building, Dreamweaver and related things should be your choice. So as i was telling you, it depends upon your requirements...
I would have to go for DreamWeaver
I mean Front page is good until you start using Dreamweaver, I would only recommend Front page to the beginners, after all thats how I learned making websites! Once you know what you are doing in Front Page then I think its time to move to Dreamweaver and start having fun with CSS and DIVs, since Search engines such as google only like pages with CSS and DIVs QUOTE It depends on your requirements... If you want a kids website up and running in a day or 2, frontpage will be the best option. Do not look for dreamweaver since it requires some sort of expertise knowledge to work on.... Yeah, it depends on your requirements. If you want to make a kids website, Frontpage is the obvious choice. That said it all. Dreamweaver is the obvious choice. It's not even that hard to use, for a simple website at least. One particularly useful feature of Dreamweaver is its search function. I only just discovered this recently but found it really useful. You can actually search web files(html, php etc.) in directories. That means you can search strings through any number of html or php files simultaneously. I found this extremely useful. For those of us who arn't born with scripting brains and download php scripts, if you need to find a certain string within the folders and you're working with thousands of files, this saves you hours and hours. Dreamweavers got all sorts of great features.
Dreamweaver!
Frontpage is cool, easy and nice for beginners with html, or for just web designers. But I prefer dreamweaver, because of the php/asp/js scripting support, and another important thing is the FTP ultility in dreamweaver. Makes it allot easier to fastly update your site. Also makes the designing allot easier, easy select text, edit tables etc etc. So thats why, Dreamweaver - optiplex
I prefer frontpage, as i just find some of the features easy to use.
I have spent longer using it, and reading about it. also, it is simialar to a lot of the microsoft office family, which i am very familiar with, so its the best for me anyway.
Frontpage it's good, but i prefer dreamwere it easear to use and it have many addvanteges.........
I use frontpage for most of my designs apart from notepad and dreamweaver.
Dreamweaver is good in a few respects but i felt frontpage has better features and easy usability. Even now i remember how i struggled with dreamweaver. Frontpage is a cake walk for those who are familiar with MS Office. For designing of scripts a dedicated software is better Expression web, the recent heir to frontpage has its own limitations and i had to uninstall it after a horrible experience.
Even though they fall in the same category they are not suppposed to be compared. While Dreamweaver has always been in constant development whereas, Frontpage has been developed just for the sake of it.
I was lucky enough to get a hand on Macromedia Dreamweaver version 1 (trial) from oldversion.com. The download link now has been removed. I must say that for the technology of those days (1997) the softwares was well developed with even a bit of DHTML. Dreamweaver has best project management tools.I like the templating system as it helps for creating small websites and when we cannot use server side includes or php includes. The best part of it, it has the dynamic code insert function which saves me a lot of typing. Frontpage --> May be it would be useful for some beginners as it comes with default Office package. But even then freeware are better than frontpage.
I would have to say dreamweaver, it has much more support for more advanced aditing features, and seems to work beter than frontpage at handling code you input in the HTML section.
I dont like microsoft software, so i would always use dreamweaver ver frontpagem but i usually use a text based or code based aditor, rathr than a WYSIWYG editor.
