| | Sometimes, financial constraints mean that we don't actually have a choice between the two .... I'd love Dreamweaver .... I'd love a good graphics tool, like maybe Paintshop pro .... I'd love to win millions on the lottery and have a mansion and holiday in the Bahamas .... but it ain't happening ....
so it's a bit annoying when people slate Frontpage saying it produces ugly web pages .... I'm acutely aware of the limitations of my website .... so please don't rub it in ....

I started off with frontpage. Used that for about 8 months. I felt like I needed a better program that gave me more control over what I wanted to do (with my limited html knowledge). Then my friend introduced me to Dreamweaver. I've been using it ever since.

I hate programs that guess what I wan't and try to finish, or fill in the blanks... Frontpage must be the most worthless piece of software ever made Dreamweaver MX 2004 rules... Though, the feature where it automaticaly closes the tag I open, goes on my nerves a bit But compared to frontpages messy code, stuffed with worthless unnecessary tags and code... Peach Gooooooooo Dreamweaver!

Frontpage is rubbish, cant set table borders to 0, and i made a template for someone in Dreamweaver, they opened it in Frontpage, and it looked completley different, the background images of tables i added (using css) did noit show at all. and dreamweaver does not have a unique layers system, loads of other programs have the ability to add layers, the same as Dreamweaver does... layers are only for dreamweaver, you dont get different html for different programs, layers arent unique to dreamweaver.

I kinda like Frontpage since it's easy to use if you know any other MS Office products. I started out using it and up to now I still do my layouts there since I find doing the tables and cells in Frontpage easier compared to Dreamweaver. Once I'm done with the layout I add the behaviors and other javascripts using Dreamweaver. Personally, I think these two softwares work best together. They don't need to be compared.

I think I saw this debate before...but I'll throw in my two cents. I have Dreamweaver MX on my machine and it's great! There's a lot you can do and you can integrate other Macromedia applications (Flash/Fireworks/Freehand/ColdFusion) into it to potentially make an amazing website!

My first homepage was made using frontpage express. Then I tried Dreamweaver and my life changed - It is true, that frontpage is easier to use for MS Office users, but dreamveawer has so much more to offer. And makes cleaner codes. For those who still don't know what to choose and don't want to buy expensive programs - I recommend trying NVU - it is an open source programe, very easy to use and with nice user interface.

i like to use frontpage more cuz it is simply to use and good. Dreawaver is not so easy and you need to study it longer. Also namo webeditor is good program.

I have experienced using microsoft frontpage, macromedia dreamweaver and namo editor. In fact, namo editor is even better than frontpage. Frontpage is where everyone usually begins after knowing a thing about html code and structure. Since frontpage is available with microsoft office its there automatically so it may be easier for anyone to just pick up and learn from it. However, you will end up with more problems as your need increases and demands intensified. Table handling is also definitely a problem. Its not exactly What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) thingy for frontpage. The advantage with Dreamweaver is that you can actually code any programs there. Including php, asp, ect. It has got many more functions and tables handling are so comfortable that you feel like playing more and more. So, even though it costs your purse, at the end of the day its much more worth investing tool than the frontpage with dissatisfied results which is openly seen by dissatisfied site visitors too. So, Dreamweaver will definitely win. For newbies their level may prompt them to praise frontpage which is quite understandable.

Adobe Dreamweaver Cs3 Beta
Dreamweaver revised (4) QUOTE Adobe focused on two primary areas for enhancement: CSS and Ajax. Both are certainly
worthy of attention. CSS is one of the major pain points for Web designers, and Ajax is the latest
fad in Web development--plus Adobe has its new Spry framework for Ajax that it needs to proselytize.
However, unless you're really struggling with complex, nested, multilinked stylesheets,
specifically want to author to the Spry framework, or need better back-and-forth with Photoshop,
there probably isn't a lot here for you. As a platform for experimenting or getting star....
