Dreamweaver Or Front Page Or Other? - which's more professional & user-friendly

BooZker
Dreamweaver is by far the best. Not only is it very user friendly, it's also great for pros. My friends Dad has been making websites for a long time now and he has always used Dreamweaver. I have been using dreamweaver 8. The FTP, colored code, code & design mode, and so much more, i would say this is the best of al the web site editors.

I use Dreamweaver MX 2004 personally. I love it because it is easy to use and still gets the job done. The code/design feature really helps so you know how much of a difference your code made to your site before posting it on the web. And of course it has the ability to actually show what your website will look like on the web just incase the design feature isn't a good enough look for you. You can do XHTML, HTML, CSS, and much more on it too! It comes with tutorials that you can get on CD or online.

I suggest to any beginners or even advance web designers to get Dreamweaver for its effective and userfriendly properties

Why would you pay for something that does nothing? Actually whats worse than doing nothing is that it keeps you from learning and being free to do what you want with html. If you really want to learn html, especially if thats what you are going to be working on I seriously recommend you get a book on html and a free editor. I really like phpdesigner 2006, it is free and someday when I have enough money I swear I am going to donate at least 20 dollars to the guy who makes it.

Definitely Dreamweaver is by far better than Front page. It supports database and many other things, if you see the toolbar there are lots of options available to make a good site.

On the other hand front page is just to make a page thats it, it is for newbies who want to know how his name looks like in internet.

I reccomend go with the best, go with Dreamweaver.

Dreamweaver definately wins for me. It is easier to understand and get online help for, there is three building "modes" Code - Used for editing the code lol, Design - basically just like dragging a picture onto the screen and it automatically gets written into the code and lastly - Split where the screen is split so you an edit code and see what it does on the website.

I don't have, and can't afford either. For what little website design I used a free one, Evrsoft First Page. It's OK for manual coding, but I wouldn't trust it's WYSIWYG editor. =\ I mostly just used it for edited and adding stuff to a pre-made template.

I have made a site from scratch with it, but with my *very* limited HTML knowledge, it's sortof.... lame. XD It's a good editor for free though, if your just getting started, and need something to just code in and see your results, it's a very good choice. smile.gif

well you can also use notepad to code a simple html site.. only thing is you will nned to know pretty much all scripts. unless you already have a basic layout code. and just work from there

I have never been a Microsoft oriented person, and when I tried Frontpage, I found it very limited, very difficult to customise a site which will be based on CSS and other things besides text and pictures. On top of that, Dreamweaver has a much friendlier interface and it keeps getting better, it is easy to edit compared to Frontpage.

And like what was said earlier, it is very easy to integrate flash (.swf) and fireworks into dreamweaver as they are under the Macromedia suite. I have always been using Macromedia Dreamweaver to do up my webpages, never have I once used Frontpage to do any of my webpages.

For me, Dreamweaver has far more capabilities than FrontPage
It Specialize in web development and it meets all the requirements of the developer.
Great support for scripting languages like php and asp and all other web programming language.
Can manage sites and ftps, good for beginners and advanced users.
WYSIWYG design environment making it a RAD(Rapid Application Development) Web Development tool much better than Frontpage's.
Always updated with latest. Dreamweaver 8
The best to incorporate with Flash web development

Hello all. I've been using Dreamweaver for a couple of months now and I'm learning as I go.
I'm pretty much totally new to making websites so I'm happy with how things are going at
the moment. I feel there is something super obvious that I can't work out how to do though.

  10. Cms Made Simple
A weird experience for this Mambo user (10)
I came across yet another CMS called CMS Made Simple (I'll just call it CMSMS from here on). Of
course, it is free and open source, and it is very compact (its latest stable distribution is 1.89
MB zipped, Mambo's is a lot larger, like 8 or more MB proably). Any page loads quickly, and are
clutter free. Part of CMSMS's features are its templating system, which works pretty
differently. In Mambo, there are the index.php template, and its accompanying template_css.css
files. In CMSMS, there's the template (stored in the DB as far as I know), and a whole bun....

    Dreamweaver's a good Webdesigning Studio (22)
I recently downloaded Macromedia's Dreamweaver 8, and I can say that it is the greatest

any money and that can be downloaded off the internet? I tried using Notepad++ (search Google, I
cannot recall the site) and it is a coder, but not a webdesign. It doesn't actually show you
what the site will end up looking like, but it shows you colour-coded codes for your site. Any s....
