QUOTE(FaLgoR @ Feb 21 2005, 07:52 PM) I use Dreamweaver to make the HTML pages, but never to PHP or ASP. And I can say, its the best I've used before. All your points may be true, but the best use I find for Dreamweaver is, to check my code for errors. Most of the professionals, and wanna-be's like me, will use notepad for coding. PHP and HTML are easy to code once you 'learn' the tags. It's the best by far, seeing as you don't have all those extra buttons to get in your freakin way. And If I can't find a certian feature/code in dreamweaver, I'm screwed, and I have to go look it up in the PHP web site. However, if I forgot some code with notepad, I can.... or will... have to do the same thing anyway.. crap, bad example... but I hate dreamweaver for anything except making tables, and checking codes.

Dreamweaver deffinatly, I hated Frontpage although that said the last time I used that was about 2 years ago so given Microsofts reputation its probably had 12 million updates since then( sorry cheap shot I know) but I just rated the features and ease of use of Dreamweaver better< I used it to create my site, and found it really useful for thing I did not klnow how to do and also made mundane thing like anchors and images easy and faster a great web design tool I would recommend it to every one, especially beginers.

damn i remember when i used to use frontpage and i remember how i had to struggle so much with it like for example putting the images in place n such the thing is horrible and messes up the site now i use photoshop to create the layout and slice it up then work with it in dreamweaver which makes everything comes out so good and its easy to use if u work with it.

i usually use dreamweaver or notepad. i tried frontpage once but compared to dreamweaver it does not match up in my opinion. dreamweaver is very user friendly so it gains my vote.

dreamweaver rocks! frontpage doesn't even come close. and in DW you have the choice of code, split, or WYSIWYG. i use both, about 50% each. small fixits are a bit of a pain to repair in DW as it loads the ful program, but for everything else, it's IMO the best coder around. again, it's one of those that you pay through the nose for. and i'm sure there are many other alternatives.

To me, Frontpage is just as easy as Dreamweaver, just a bit more complicated. If you want a nice quality site, I say go with Dreamweaver.

A (hopefully) Simple Dreamweaver Question
(4) Hello all. I've been using Dreamweaver for a couple of months now and I'm learning as I go.
I'm pretty much totally new to making websites so I'm happy with how things are going at
the moment. I feel there is something super obvious that I can't work out how to do though.
This is my site. http://www.scottishdreamteam.trap17.com/ I'd like to be able to have like a

Dreamweaver, Front Page
(23) Hey guys I use dreamweaver to code my sites, I heard even though the "hardcore" people dont use it,
its at least better than front page. And what I was wondering is are there any website
building/helping tools or programs besides those two? I havent heard of any but I figured there
might be a few more. The other question I had was ive been hearing alot about CSS and layers. I
know what CSS is and have been trying to incorperate that into my site when/wherever possible
However what are layers? And can you reccomend a good book on webdesign? I dont want a "for dummi....
Cms Made Simple
A weird experience for this Mambo user (10) I came across yet another CMS called CMS Made Simple (I'll just call it CMSMS from here on). Of
course, it is free and open source, and it is very compact (its latest stable distribution is 1.89
MB zipped, Mambo's is a lot larger, like 8 or more MB proably). Any page loads quickly, and are
clutter free. Part of CMSMS's features are its templating system, which works pretty
differently. In Mambo, there are the index.php template, and its accompanying template_css.css
files. In CMSMS, there's the template (stored in the DB as far as I know), and a whole bun....
Dreamweaver
Dreamweaver's a good Webdesigning Studio (22) I recently downloaded Macromedia's Dreamweaver 8, and I can say that it is the greatest
webdesigner that the world has ever seen! The only problem is that it costs too much money in my
tastes, but otherwise it is perfect! Does anyone know of a webdesigning studio that does not
cost any money and that can be downloaded off the internet? I tried using Notepad++ (search Google,
I cannot recall the site) and it is a coder, but not a webdesign. It doesn't actually show you
what the site will end up looking like, but it shows you colour-coded codes for your sit....
