How Virtual Private Networks Work
Introduction to How Virtual Private Networks Work (2) QUOTE The world has changed a lot in the last couple of decades. Instead of simply dealing with
local or regional concerns, many businesses now have to think about global markets and logistics.
Many companies have facilities spread out across the country or around the world, and there is one
thing that all of them need: A way to maintain fast, secure and reliable communications wherever
their offices are. Until fairly recently, this has meant the use of leased lines to maintain a wide
area network (WAN). Leased lines, ranging from ISDN (integrated services digital n....
Forgent Networks Won Jpeg Patents
and started sueing Adobe, Microsoft, Apple, etc. (2) QUOTE The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office agreed earlier this week to a request by the Public
Patent Foundation to review a controversial patent that Forgent Networks has been attempting to
enforce through lawsuits with dozens of companies, including Adobe, Microsoft, Apple, Sun, RIM and
Google. Forgent acquired the rights to the JPEG compression patent through a 1997 purchase of
Compression Labs, however it did not start asserting its ownership and demanding licensing for the

World's Fastest Wireless Lan
240 Mbps speeds for wireless networks (10) I've read my local computer news and found this article. It's a new product from Netgear,
delivering 240 Mbps speed for wireless networks. That's insane! Really! It's faster
than the wired Fast Ethernet, running at 100 Mbps. If this product comes to sale in my country,
I'll definately change my router to this one. Check it out this wireless router here :

School Networks
Why do they have to be so difficult... (5) At my school, I'm a student computer tech, which means that I fix the computers that arn't
working correctly. I'm also taking 2 programming classes, Visual Basic, and HTML. In order for
the Visual Studio to work, all of the files and projects have to be backed up to the network hard
drives after you are done working, and they have to be restored to the local hard drive before work
can be done. Well, there is some odd problem with the scripts that backup and restore all of these
files, and no one can figure out what they are. What happens is whenever I(Yes, it....
Networks!
- argh..... (1) hey, I have one computer that connects to the other one through a wireless connection. I used to be
able to share the files, but mysteriously now, I can't. Any reason why the network all a sudden
fails. It connects, but I can't share files or printer. Any ideas? Also, is there a way for me
to share the files to the other computer from mine? Confusing you? Ok, my comp, in my room, connect
to a wireless router, in another room, the router is hardwired to another comp in that same room. I
want them to share files.....
Movie Blackout For P2p Networks?
(0) Researchers at Royal Philips Electronics are developing new "fingerprinting" technology that could
automatically identify and block transmission of digital-video files, potentially handing movie
studios a new weapon in its war on peer-to-peer networks. The technique would be similar to
technology already being used to track and prevent copying of music files on some university
networks. Philips' audio fingerprinting technology is central to Napster founder Shawn
Fanning's new company Snocap, which aims to turn file-swapping networks into digital-song
stores. On....
