Well, according to my doctor, a healthier diet won't do much. Becuase it's all genetic cholestorol, medication is just about all that can bring it down.

Hey demonfire..the problem of cholesterol is pretty dangerous..it comes with eating of great amounts of lipids or in popular language oils,fats etc..so these large amounts of fats deposit or turn in cholesterol and cholesterol can not be metabolized coz of its large amount so its deposited in the parets of blood vessels and so enclosing their lumen...so blood will have difficuties to pass and this will create lots of problems such as ischemia,infarcts,hypertension etc...soi ve heard a popular medication which needs:honey,lemon and other fruits..make a juice and use that 3 times a day..try itadbux.org

That is correct, scutari, but, funny and paradoxal as it may seem, one almost obligatory way to keep the cholesterol down is to eat oily fish about three times a week.
This means things like mackrel, tuna, salmon, kippers, sardines etc.

Although these things are oily and (as people wrongly assume) full of fat, they are actually a rich source of Omega 3 oils, a very powerful aid to keep cholesterol at bay.

On top of that (in my opinion anyway) they are all quite tasty too.
Furthermore, they also have further advantages: e.g. they will keep your bones healthy and protect you against regular colds, flus and other infections (think of the benefits of cod liver oil).

Yeah , i do take cholestrol medication.
my chlestrol level is quite high, the problem with cholestrol is tat they give heart diseases, and its always better to control it. I do a lotta exercise ,but still find it difficult to maintain such level. previously even my triglycerides level has gone up and kinda worried as it might seriouslty damage my health.

Beacause of High Cholestrol i experienced the Following problems
1. Not Good Sleep
2. Shocking Incease in Weight.
3. Palpitations.
4. Heavy pulse.

i was really worried for all this , becoz , these are also the symptoms for an heart attack. but i have done recents test and my heart seems fine. Doctors advice is to control the Levels and also the fatty acids in your liver to avoid any liiver damage.

And also, although that might sound very paradoxal, it is advisable to eat oily fish (mackrel, salmon, sardines, kippers, tuna) three times a week.
Although oily and fatty, they are a rich source of Omega 3 oils, which keep cholesterol at bay.
Further (IMHO) they are very tasty too, and they can give you lots of other benefits (keep the bones strong, protect against constant colds and infections...).
That is why people used to give their children cod liver oil in the old days.

Well, like I said, my doctor says my cholesterol has nothing to do with my diet. It's all hereditary. I just recently got the exact numbers, and my Cholestorol is about 100 points above what it should be, and all of it i the harmful kind (HDL?)
Anyway, I definitely have to go on this stuff, but the only question is on when I'll start taking it. Mist likely I'll start taking it in a month or so.

No DeM0nFiRe, HDL "High Density Lipoprotein" is not the harmful type, it's acutally the good one, the harmful one is LDL "Low Density Lipoprotein", mean when the ratio of HDL/LDL becomes bigger that's better.
You don't have to eat garlic as it is, you could have garlic tablets or capsules "depends on dosage form", it's you physician call anyway.
Talking about the Statins "ex: Fluvastatin" it's a cholesterol medications "Only your physician tells if you take it or not", however they are widely used by cholesterol patients, but if you have to take such medications I suggest the following:

1- You can't cut this medication back immediately, if you had it for a while and your physician wanted you to stop it, you have to decrease the dose gradualy "every other day instead of every day, then every two days, then every 3 days and so on untill you cut it", also it's your physician call.
2- You have to take some liver protecting medications at the same time when are taking Statins, that's cruicial I guess "all the way it's your physician call".
