| | I don't really know if this should fit here, but here goes.
I have a dial-up connection (  ) that normaly displays its connected icon in the system tray, however today something happened and now it doesn't. Someone loged into MSN messenger and when they we't to go off the internet the icon wasn't there, I managed to disconnect from the Dial-Up networking window, but this isn't very convienant. Oh, I would guess your first response would be to goto properties and check the box to show in the tray, but I never unchecked it and it still is checked, I have also recreated the connection. |

To make the system tray icon reappear in the system tray when connected.....Go to Start --> Connect To --> (right click on your dial-up connection) --> Status --> Properties --> At the bottom there should be Show icon in notification area when connected. Check that. Anyhoo, it works on my system, may not work on your's....

Kind of popup thingie (7) Hi! I'm doing VB for some time now and for last two days I've been looking for a
tutorial which would show me how to create some kind of notification that would pop up from
lower-right side of my screen, where the clock is... you know, just like.. when a contact comes
online on MSN etc. I realized that there's no way to make a balloon pop up like the one in the
image but is there a way to make anything like that..it doesn't have to be a balloon. A little

An Icon Issue
Win XP desktop icons take ages to show (7) Hi, first of all, a very Happy New Year to everyone. Now for my problem: I use Win XP SP2 on a 2.8
Ghz dualcore P4 processor machine, 1 Gb RAM, 250 Mb HDD. Whenever I boot up, or even when I return
to the bare desktop after having had a number of windows open for a while, my icons on the desktop
are all blank ones, such as the ones you get when there is no program associated with a certain
file. Then, one by one, they begin to get the appearance they should have, but it is a real drag
which takes ages, and the PC is not very responsive while it happens. I seem to remem....

(0) I just noticed while browsing thru some subforums here in trap that the icons for the threads
don't specify if I have made posts on the thread. I've been to other forums and they have
customized icons for threads like if a thread is locked, active (hot topic) or if you have posted
something there. I know some of you would think this wouldn't be necessary but I think it's
important especially to prevent double-posting on threads, repeating threads and stuff. That's
just my observation anyway. What do you think?....

(5) My dsl modem is not working right at the moment so until the dell people come and fix it is there
any isp's that offer free trials besides netzero and juno, because i used those already and my
juno trial expired earlier and im not sure how much time i have left on my free netzero account,
they are suppose to be coming some time this week to fix the modem and i have important things to
do so for the time being i am going to have to use a dial-up connection, so if you can name any

Dial-up Software On An Imac?
iMac OS 9.2 Help (2) I've got a cheap iMac that I could definitely use for internet whenever I'm away from my
DSL, especially since it's portable. Well it's running Mac OS 9.2 and since that's
pretty old there aren't many updates or programs out for it anymore and Internet Explorer
stopped updates a loooong time ago (it's stuck at 5.1) and I've got SBC Yahoo! DSL.

(8) hi For some unknown reason, when I connected to the internet today, the internet connection icon in
the taskbar didn't appear. I tried unchecking and re-checking the "Show icon in notification
