Hi guys, i'm a newbie here, really need your suggestion with which portal (opensource) best for
family & friends portal........

phpBB: -Good for the begginner. -Easy to manage. -Very modable. -Written easily. -Free. Invision
Power Board: -More for intermediate webmasters. -Lots of mods. -A little complicated to manage. -Not
legally free unless given via IPB host. vBulletin: -Experts only. -Some mods. -Not legally free
anywhere. -Pretty hard to manage....

Is there anyone wo can help me here? Before I found trap17, I was using another free hosting service
without cPanel and all. Anyways, I'm trying to install a portal system called PHPX , and me
being a complete newbie to all this "Upload FTP" "Active MySQL" that... I've come here for help
until I can get cPanel here xD. I've uploaded all the files in the download to my FTP
server/MySQL database thing, but I get an error, something like "Cannot connect root@localhost to
MySQL" and it just shows that. Has anyone of you used PHPX before, and if you haven't,...

I've downloaded on of the unreal portal like trap has. I followed the steps and did whatever it
said but it didn't install probably. Was it something i had to add to it or something to delete.
I've installed a new skin before instlling this portal. I don't know php and mysql.
