| | i started with the internet.. i would suck at myspace.. but then i got into it, and started memorizing codes & what not.. [& i run myspace sites & fansites for tawny heath, chantelle paige etc] and by doing this became [i like to think] amazing on photoshop. so i decided, to go worldwide.. and put it on the internet.. thats when i learned to use adobe's image ready.. where you can code web templates [ the links as imagemaps] & started tweaking styleshets, adding & removing codes [& memmorizing them] to learn more (: haha

I started making websites with a tool on Netscape, I forget what it's called. Then I just randomly searched 'learn how to make websites' on Google and learned from the sites that came up.

aww... someone brought back a 4-year-old topic...  I first just got randomly really interested in HTML... back then, I could make unnecessarily simple websites... I learned by viewing source of websites and learning what each tag did... Then, I found some very old and seriously outdated HTML tutorial books covered in dust in underneath the stairs... I started reading them, they didn't really teach me any new tags, just expanded on what the tags could do and stuff... I then found W3Schools (URL is : http://www.w3schools.com for those that don't know) I first, learned HTML 4.01 Transitional, ONLY... Then I started being curious and clicked on "XHTML", after I read the description, I started to learn XHTML 1.0 Transitional... I learned it for a while until I joined Trap17 and saw a post made by "jlhaslip" that said something about XHTML 1.0 Strict being the best language to learn, then i decided to check it out... At first, I didn't like XHTML 1.0 Strict because there was alot of things I couldn't do that I got used to doing (i.e. the target="_blank" tags), but then I persisted and eventually got the hang of it... I'm now trying to incorporate XHTML 1.1 native code into my website... currently my website validates as valid XHTML 1.1 but with a XML encoding warning...

oh where did I learn html from?  Well, my friend(few years ago) sent me a html page of some website, and changed the content to funny things u know I wanted to learn that too, so he showed me where to look at the page source, and what to change etc ... So I wanted more, went to google to search for html tutorials. Found ALLOT! of helpfull material online on html. Anyway, I mostly learned it at w3schools, they're great, also learned mysql, css there So I mostly learned through google, and other webpage's source. - optiplex

I learned from www.htmlgoodies.com; the site has a good set of primers on HTML and also a variety of information about more advanced topics, such as JavaScript and CGI. He also discusses web design and includes a sample chapter from his web design book. This is often just as important as learning HTML...if you're going to take the time to code a site, you should at least make it look good. It's been awhile since I've been to the site, but I'm sure more info has been added. The best to learn though, is by doing. Be sure to practice what you learn. It also helps to keep documentation handy, especially with all the new web standards and XHTML. www.w3schools.com has good information on the latter.

Best Way To Protect Html Form Fields
Looking for suggestions on how to protect form fields during user inpu (3) My working example is here http://sonesay.trap17.com/application.php The form submits to itself
and stores what ever the user inputs into session variables. Thats all fine and I have validation
checks for it, I wanted to add more and I remember comming across a site where they would lock from

Help With Css/html Layout
Horizontal List Problems (5) I can't figure out why this horizontal list isnt working. Underneath my banner is supposed to

(8) My question is, why would anyone use the CODE tag when you can use the PRE tag? 1. The PRE tag

serving the right kind (11) Right now I have a site, which I've made XHTML 1.0 Strict. I am sending it as
application/xhtml+xml to browsers that say they can handle it, and as text/html to all other
browsers. Anyway, I started thinking that I'd much rather send proper HTML 4.01 to browsers that
don't understand XHTML instead of XHTML pretending to be HTML 4.01. It's not really a
problem with IE, because it is made to handle badly written sites, but who knows, some browser that
can handle HTML, but not XHTML, may be (correctly) parsing CODE <p> Hello <br />
