| | I wanted to make a DHTML menu that read off a database, so it woud work with a menu system in PHP-nuke, called somarre patreballe, or something like that. Anybody can help me? I don't know much of anything about DHTML. |

Because DTHML is client-based and not server based, it can not grab information from a database. DHTML can not read db's nor can it handle db's. It's bested if you made a PHP code that would read the SQL db and then use some echo statements to create that DHTML menu. hth, whyme

hey psychiccyberfreak! i think this link can help you what "whyme" said is correct that you can use DHTML as the frontend and then use asp or any other server side script to read all the content. the link which i am posting is basically an ASP DHTML driven menu.

You could use some of the functionality outlined in that article, but imho, you'd be better off ditching DHTML menus in favour of a full CSS-driven alternative as the code that needs to be manipulated by the database would be far simpler. Check out Suckerfish dropdowns for an excellent CSS example.

As they said, dhtml is client side code, so in order to achieve database connections you need other kind of programming, like php, jps, asp, but not only do you need to program in any of these languages, but you need your server to support them. Trap17 supports php, which is also free if you install a local server in your machine.

In the Mambo content management system, there is a module that makes dropdown javascript menus. I forgot what it is called, but I got it from Mamboforge. I don't like it because the menus slide out instead of just appearing.

Iframe Menu Question
(1) I am trying to make a menu for my site. I made an HTML page with the text/links of the menu, then I
embedded that page in all the main "content" pages using an iframe. The problem is that whenever I
click the links in the menu they open INSIDE of the iframe instead of switching the whole browser to

Menu Errors In Internet Explorer
(4) I am not sure if this is the correct section, but this is related to HTML. I have some menus at the
top of my forum, which work perfectly in Firefox. But my members started complaining that they were
not working correctly, and when I tested it in Internet Explorer, I found that only two of the menus
show up, and the others show up as plain text below. Here is a screenshot of what the menus look

Help With Nav Menu Error

Menu Bar Aligning
(1) I am creating a website for an outreach service. I am running into a reoccuring problem. I can get
everything to center correctly while I am viewing it under 1024x768. When I view it under 800x600
the menu itself pulls to the right. If I take away the absolute value it puts the menu on the left

Dhtml Opacity
how stable is opacity (3) I'm working on a new site, and would really like to use the opacity functions in dhmtl but
i'm just wondering how stable it is. It is super important that most browsers see it so i've
found a script for both mozilla ( very difficult to find) and one for ie. but now i'm just at a

Insert Into Database

titles to their menu. insted of Pick One Choise 1 try Choise 1 with
optgroup users can't select Pick One, it is just use as a title....
