Thought i have planned to attend various Unconferences starting from BarCamp Bangalore 4 (http://barcampbangalore.org/wiki/BCB4), but missed that due to my college exams. Then i gathered people to attend BarCamp 5 and again i was not able to attend because i was shifting places and was about to join the company for internship as part of my syallabus. So missed that on too... The reviews about Barcamp Bangalore 5 - Winter Edition was not that good.. That comes second and i did not regret much.
Then this news about DevCamp was a surprise and soon i added myself as one of the participant.
So.. after re-scheduling almos all my activities i had on this day i was able to manage and attend the Un conference.
It started today morning around 10. ThoughtWorks was the host and there were around 600 people who had registered and there was place only for around 200-300 people and instructions were put up as registeration will be on "FCFS" basis... So we (Me and Paramesh, a friend of mine) did plan and went on time. (We had to come from Coimbatore - Where our college is and had review on our projects the previous day). So we were on time and was able to enter ThoughWorks without much trouble as we were already comfortable with the place and the company.
We were able to meet some familiar places... that made us more comfortable.
I did take my laptop and started to take notes on various things that was happening around - like introductions, instructions, various sessione going to happen etc.
Did i forget to mention that Martin Fowler was there for the un-conference. Yes he was there, though he avoided conducting a session and liked to be an audience and he did that right. Ya.. coming back to my part of taking notes... after few sentences i thought why should i take notes rather i could live blog. I do not have experience in live blogging and thought that i will give a try and did that.... That made the presence more interesting and i became more re active. My activities changed only from attending to attending and as well updating the happenings in the conference in my blog.
My (Varalu) first live blogging experience in the below link.
