I went to the Borland web site and tried to figure out what Delphi is about, but evidently it is over my head. Is is some kind of programming software? I am not a great techy. If someone could try to explain it to me in plain English, I would appreciate it. |

Probably in little organisations where there are "some" organising work going around ^^; The good thing about Delphi programming you can create programs (obviously), from Windows based to Web based programs. It can involve a database (I use MS Access) so you can store and retrieve data just like MySQL. If you like to debug Windows (in most cases, you will find alot of time to do this), you can use Delphi too to see the actual assembly language. Delphi, doesnt seem to sound a great deal, but in that package, it is very powerful, especially for debuggers. I assume you know what a debugger right? Yup thats Delphi.

Delphi is a programming language and software suite similar to VisualBASIC, only it doesn't suck as much because it doesn't make as bloated of applications like VisualBASIC(you can make the same application in C for probably half as less as a the VB application with twice the performance). I'd reccomend it to beginners as it is Pascal based, and Pascal is great for teaching programming because it is very strict in syntax but forgiving with features like memory management which C lacks.

Thanks for the info gc87 and Tetraca. This stuff is way over my head even to begin with. I have returned the CD to the library so somebody who can understand how to us it might benefit from it. Programming is way out of my league. Guess I will just stick to my graphics programs.

Windows Xp Sp3 Is Out
(10) Well after a week delay because of some conflict Microsoft finally releases XP SP3, and at a

Search For Video Files And Display Them
Using a batch file in windows (0) In windows you need to be able to see the file's extension so you can rename a .txt file to .bat
This batch code I wrote searches your C:\ drive for video files and drops the results into a
file. That file is then processed into links on a web-page. The web-page is then opened for you to
view. Click the links to view the file, right click -> save as to save to another place on your
computer. I use it a lot after browsing videos on the web. It's fun to see what videos end up
cached (left on the computer from browsing) Insert this into a file named vid-searc....
Windows Xp
Removed (11) I read yesterday that Microsoft will remove Windows XP from store shelves in June 2008, and, will
discontinue support for older versions all together. I like Xp over Vista , I tested both myself,

slow" compared to XP or 2000 for that matters. What is your opinion? This website keeps up on

How to ...... (2) If you bought a brand new computer within the past few years, you might have noticed that your
computer shipped with a Serial ATA (SATA) controller instead of the convetional Enhanced IDE (EIDE)
controller. The reason for this is to enhance performance and power management as SATA controllers

counterparts. And they are supposed to use lesser amount of power thereby saving you more battery
life in your notebook's battery or UPS as the case may be. If you want to install and run ....
Start Multiple Programs With One Shortcut
Windows XP (14) Welcome to my turoial on how to start multiple programs using one shortcut. You may probably be
wondering how this is possible. Well this tutorial will use a language from MS-DOS called batch. I

simply a way to run several MS-DOS commands with just one command. All batch files are run through
Command Prompt, but they can be accessed with shortcuts also. Here are a few requirements for this
tutorial. Requirements Windows XP (I tested this on XP, but it should work on m....
Windows Ntfs Folder And File Compression. Good Or Bad?
(5) I believe everyone in this forum knows what a file system means and that every windows user knows
what FAT and NTFS means so I am not gonna start going into those. Well, the NTFS (Windows NT file

Windows Vista And Its Problems
Seems like a down-grade to me. (21) Recently I purchased an Emachines computer with Windows Vista installed. I thought "the newer the
better." I was horribly wrong. Once I got it, it took an hour or two just to get the thing
started and updated. Then it had tons of start-up files on it that I had to shut off with the
msconfig file. Once that was over, I went to check the games that were pre-installed from a
comany called WildCoins. I played Diner Dash and got addicted to soon find out that after two free
plays, you have to pay to play or play online. That was upsetting since I couldn't get in....
Ctrl + C Will Not Work
Windows Xp Pro SP2 (13) I recently built a computer, everything seems to be alright with it, except one thing, CTRL + C just

Is There An Adium-like Im Client For Windows?
