Okay, well, I wouldn't think it would be "artifical" since you are using your post to help the board in a way, and I think people should spend the time to read staff notes anyway.
OK, here is the poll to reflect the tread we started earlier. We can't seem to stay on track and finish one task but keep straying to other matters that should be looked at in different posts. So if we use an organized way of dealing with one little piece at a time we should get the army game to our liking (It may not please all but lets use majority vote and stick by the result)
I'm leaving this poll open for comments but stick to the subject. If you have other suggestions, post them and we can make other polls for that.
I'm not sure if there is a way of putting a time restraint on this but I say to keep the polls open for 48 hours...

I think the time limit's just fine now - quite well tuned in fact. Decreasing the time would make the game become too easy. To me this time seems just perfect.
One factor that can be introduced is the concept of ERA. We can have a certain ERA going on for say, 6 months, after which all the players are reset and the top100 scorers are placed in a separate Hall Of Fame page. Along with resetting the stats, you could also introduce some new random elements or upgrade criteria - some little changes every time to make the game more interesting. And at the end of each era, the new list of top100 gets added to the HOF. That way everyone will be forced to do a fresh start and re-exercise their skills after every era.
Oh, one thing that could be increased though is the number of turns. 1 turn per 30 mins seems too low. If you get more turns that'll give you the chance to attack more and spark off some really interesting battles.
I voted to keep it the same because I like how things are now and I am saving my attack turns. But, increasing to every 20 minutes instead of every 30 would be just as cool. Either way don’t make too dramatic a change. Maybe you can put an A or B and a B or C on the poll.
I voted to keep it the same, if we turned it to every 20 minutes you get more gold and turns then it is to easy. Maybe changing it to 1 attack turn and gold every 40 minutes isn't such a bad idea though, when I wake up in the morning of going to sleep I see I have got a great deal of money but I have had around 5 people attack me. Changing it to 40 minutes would be helpful as it will mean you have less gold that you will have with 30 minutes so people that have different time frames to you (in a different part of the world to you) might choose not to attack you as you don't have as much gold as they want. Get my point?
What about increasing the time to 40 min but giving us more attack turns instead? I think that would be more interesting. It's easier to wait a while longer to attack at a stronger rate than to wait shorter periods of time when you can't do much damage with the turns.
I actually voted for one more attack turn and just a tad more money each 20 minutes because it would only make sense that in the real world we could attack every 15 mintues at least once. So that should be 1 turn. Yes that would mean like 4 turns per hour which still isn't a lot anyway. It is less than the last army system.
Yeah, turns are coming a little slow. I'd say one every 20 minutes is good enough. Either way, everyone will get the same benefits, so it doesn't really help me, other than building up slightly quicker, and frying the new guys and girls. =P
i think it is absolutely fine right now. People who want more money and more turns are probably those with lower ranks. If you give more turns and more money it will make the game like the old army system. You could basically make it to the top in less than a week. As we build our stuff, we will get more money. I am getting over 100k every 30 mins. And I'm sure there are others with the same or better gold production. And it goes up every 30 mins too...
OK, sinve we restarted the game it seems like a question and poll that we can close or leave open... I'm going to leave it open for 24 more hours because we vere down.
I vote keep it like it is. I think the game has like others said, a fine balance and I think it works well. I have started fresh 3 times now and each time I slowly climb the ranks. The first time not very well, but the second time was great and now the third time I'm ranked #5. As you play you learn and with the system the way it is nobody will jump to the top too quickly.

I didn’t want to make it look like something new was added to the thread. I felt this would artificially add to my hosting credits and might cause people to waste there time by clinking on the topic, hopping to read something new. I was going to ask NilC what the best procedure for making these changes would be but I didn’t bother to PM him.
Well I just attacked someone and only dealt 90,000+ damage where as before I was up to 130,000+
right before. I am really wondering how these numbers are determined because there seems to be no
streamline consistency to it. Is it dependant on how many untrained soldiers you have that will
bring the # down or something like that because I am at a loss as to why my attack # would be so low
as to go to only 90,000+.....

With the old army system we coud attack almost 5 times every 24 hour with full 50 attack turn. Now
this is down to 3.8 full turns every 24 hours. My suggestion is to get 1 soldier every 20
minutes*unit production, that way it will be 4.8 attack turns every 24 hours like it used to. Unit
production could stay at 30 min like now or be 20 minutes to match the soldier / gold ratio. Let me
know what the thought is on this? I'm suggesting it because a lot of people think it's to
slow paced now /smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' />....
If you attack any of these users they will all attack you back and make it so you can't suceed
