Ah finally leaving Dial up! Youll really notice the difference after being on dial up for so long, especially when downloading, back in the dark days of my dial up the max i was willing to download was around 5-6mb nowadays ill gladly download 6Omb or even hundreds if i have to. Good times.
Im also interested to see how much it costs, im getting about 2mb i think for abut £15 or around $3O i guess.
I am using bsnl dialup netone connection which cost me same as one month broadband connection i.e 25$. For dialup it have to be paid in 2 months. It is painful so i am planning to switch to dataone broadband but with 1gb download speed. It will cost me around 5$ a month.
I am working in BSNL, the DataOne service of BSNL is great, it is keeping landline phones alive. Now BSNL is planning for triple play in landline connection, that is, they will provide voice, data and also different TV channels will also be provided, via IP TV. This much for only $20.
Hey there everybody! I need some help. Here's the problem. I have a Linksys Wireless WRT54G
v5 router, which, I think, is acting up. First of all, I can't get port forwarding to work!
About three month ago my port forwarding was working flawlessly, I could use download clients like
DC++, or BitComet, or have an ftp server running, etc... Now, whichever ports I use, nothing seems
to work. Plus, in clients like DC++ where you're connected to several hubs, the connection to
the hubs is constantly dropped. On top of that, the joke's on me actually...
The title really explains it all. After setting up connection sharing through LAN and on one
computer, I had a thought "well could I use this to share an internet connection from a wide
distance?". Well could I? So say now that my brother who lives a mile down the road who has no
internet connection, but a phoneline, Could he set up a connection going to my IP? I could use a
service like DynamicIP where theres a domain "summoned" towards my dynamic IP (or i could change to
a broadband company that gives me a static IP) The software I'm using is called CCProxy It&...

How many of you experienced this? QUOTE Unable to renew IP address Unable to start RPC service
You invite a broadband service, i.e. Verizon DSL, and they provide you with an installation disk.
You gladly use it but later you add LAN to your home and decide to add a router. You follow the
manufacturer's instruction and set up your home network. But this is strange... the computer you
were able to connect to the internet just before a home network is now cannot connect to the
internet. And according to the router manual you installed the program correctly but ...
Hi, I have a wireless broadband connection that is being distributed around my house using a belkin
adsl wireless router. I connect to the internet through 2 machines. One is a laptop with a wireless
card running XP and the other is a PC running Vista and connecting with the Belkin Usb stick
provided. I have no problems connecting but the internet is slow slow. I am on an up to 8mb package
with virgin, but i have done several speed tests and im not even reaching a megabyte. Also on my
laptop every so often the connection speed drops heavily, the internet hangs and then ...
Apologies if there is a standard thread for this that I am missing, had a wee look and couldn't
spot one. I’ve got broadband only through Virgin Media. It was working fine via the RJ45 at
my old flat (USB wouldn’t work for some reason). I moved house and they cut off the
connection to my old box and told me that they would send a new box of broadband goodies. This
arrived on Friday so I hooked it up, called Virgin and activated it. This went fine as the cable
light on the box went solid green. Once connected to the pc the pc light on the box was flashin...
Hi, Last term, I presented my presentation to my supervisor every day with Remote Desktop
Connection. I did not need to bring my laptop from my hostel to campus, campus to hostel. It is very
convenient for me. So, I would like to share my knowledge to you. It is also good when you are away
from your computer, you can still access your computer from the distance. For example, if you were
in Italy and studied there, you should not need to bring your computer, but you could manage your
computer. It is very simple and very easy. I would like to explain with pictures. There...
I open this subject for all of us. If somebody has some tips to boost the internet connection under
windows, don't hesitate to post the tips for us to approve it. Thanks to all of you....
I have a WRT54G v5 router and ADSL with PPPoE and I'm experiencing problems with the router
dropping the Default gateway periodically. After browsing this forum for similar problems and
hopefully solutions with no luck on the solution part I decided to chat with Linksys. The guy I
chatted with suggested that I should try changing the router's IP address to 192.168.2.1 instead
of 192.168.50.1 which I had set it to before. In my ears the tip sounded like rubbish, but I gave it
a try and it actually seems to be working. A sufficient amount of time hasn't passe...
