| | This problem seems like something alot of people would have done on purpose. Google used an excuse thats uncalled for they could just admit the problems. There is no way to avoid what happened because sites are stored on their server. |

Hey people I checked just now and Web Accelerator has been apparently improved and is available for download now. I must say that Google is reaching out tofar more sections than it can smoothly handle. But this web acce;erator software is/was the only major failure I've heard about Google in the news and yet they are not givin it up!

I think google must be really aware of all these problem. They have been working on thier products really hard. isnt it??. I mean if you see the google search engine its simply the best since it is fast and simple. Google must have been trying to experiment something through the Google Web Accelerator. I hope that we would soon get to see Google Web Accelerator which would really Accelerate the internet

I highly doubt Google will catch this for quite a while. Go figure, though. Web accelerators sometimes are glitched out, I've noticed.

Yeah, I hate Google Web Accelerator. If anyone is using it, uninstall and delete it right now. It has even been classified spyware by some people. I used it once, and I found logs that scared me, so I deleted it immeadiatly, and others have had the same problem.

I'm glad I don't use this thing because I have Cable internet. That really would have to stink if you were to cancel your account. Wouldn't it make you log out of a page like this forum because it would click log out for you. You would log back in and then log out again over and over. That is really wierd. lol Hopefully they can fix that.

Ok, a little tip about Google Web Accelerator. It logs every site you visit and every link you click and submits it to google to 'better their service'. They put it right in the ToS. Its basicly spyware that you download onto your computer knowingly. They bundled it with a cheap freebie program thats availible everywhere (fasterfox for firefox) and put in some good ol data miners. Its a tracking cookie that takes up your RAM and sits on your toolbar. Your best bet is to delete it and not support that kind of data collection. Its very low of a huge company like google to exploit the average internet user by offering them something that sounds great (faster internet) when really your just collecting the web sites they go to. Phishers Target Google Gmail Users
Be Careful GMail Users (12) QUOTE IT security experts warned today of a "widespread phishing email campaign" that tries to
swindle unwary recipients by pretending to offer a cash prize from Gmail, Google's popular free
email service. The emails claim that the recipient has been randomly selected for a $500 cash
prize, and that the money can be paid automatically if they click on the embedded web link. Part of
the email reads as follows: 'You won $500! Gmail congratulates you!

Trojan Emits Bogus Google Adsense Ads
Trojan Emits Bogus Google AdSense Ads (5) Trojan Emits Bogus; Google AdSense Ads A Trojan horse program is churning out bogus Google ads
promoting products Google eschews—gambling, cheap Viagra, girlie photos and adult dating. The
ads, being targeted at small publishers, are identical to Google AdSense ads except that referral
graphic buttons are being converted to text, apparently due to a bug in the Trojan, according to the
publisher who reportedly discovered the Trojan. That publisher, Raoul Bangera, told Techshout.com
that the non-contextual and risqué content of the ads are what set them apart from....
Sober Virus

> Google Can Find Anything.. Including Credit Card
(4) QUOTE Source: ZDNet Simple queries using the Google search engine can turn up a handful of
sites that have posted credit card information to the Web, CNET News.com learned on Tuesday. The
lists of financial information include hundreds of card holders' names, addresses and phone
numbers as well as their credit-card data. Much of the credit-card data that appears in the lists
found by Google may no longer be valid, but CNET called several people listed and verified that the
credit cards numbers were authentic. The query, the latest example of "Google hacking," h....

Google Web Accelerator
(8) Google had a load of criticism after launching its dodgy speed booster called "Google Web
Accelerator". How it works is to saving pages onto its servers, to reduce loading times, giving you
the cached pages. The Google Web Accelerator's dedicated servers continually store and update
the most popular pages, and if a previously downloaded page has changed the servers will only send
the changes so that it can update more quickly. However, thousands of users have complained that
caching in this way can accidently reveal personal information including bank details. So, ....

Phishers Play Off Google.com
(12) QUOTE Spyware authors and phishing scammers are using a technique almost as old as the Internet
to draw unsuspecting users: Web sites purposefully designed to take advantage of typing errors.
Finnish security firm F-Secure has discovered a site just one letter different than Google.com that
when accidentally visited, drops a slew of malicious software on users' PCs. The site, and
several affiliated sites, are registered to various Russian nationals, said F-Secure, which has
alerted local authorities. Visitors who stumble on the site by mistyping google.com are....
