I've seen a few sites that use cutenews and they look really good. I do prefer Joomla myself which i just started using a couple of weeks back(Although i have not tried cutenews myself yet). But not requiring MySQL is an impressive feature.

If CuteNews didn't require me to buy I license I might use it.

Coding my own is a lot more fun though.

Well its just $5 to buy the license and ot be honest cutenews is the most practical system, hopefully when they upgrade to a new version they add more features to it like they do for word press. That is the only problem with cutenews is that it doesn't have a lot features that word press has that I wouldn't mind seeing. They have a mod section but not enough coders to design some new idea's for it, and it has been awhile since I been to their forum so I would only guess that new stuff has coded already or not.

I think that cute news would be excellent to start a community of news... like a site where everyone posts interesting updates on whatever news thats good... like a journalist website or something... the set ups almost perfect for that.

Yep this i a great script and I have used it before, however I am curently using Xpression News, which I like even more, because they are incredibly versatile and easy to configure via CSS in the admin panel...I have it on 2 sites now and it works great...

I may try out a few other types, I'm re-creating my site and giving it a new angle so yeah... I'll shop around too see if there is something I lke more... I'll probably try Xpression.
