Creating a pop up

Here is the script to create a pop up.
CODE
<script type="text/javascript"> [br]<!-- [/br]F1 = window.open("PageToShow.html","SecondWindow","width=310,height=400,left=0,top=0"); [br]self.focus(); [/br]//-->
</script>

Why would anyone want to know that? Popups are the most annoying thing in the WORLD. Putting one on your site is the equivalent of being pond scum. ^.^

It does have its uses, like an info page or quick registration that isn't worth having a whole page to load. But pop-up ADs is another matter.

Pop ups are really hated an if you want to be hated i suggest u use this really hated popup (newbies may have problems with closing it... dry.gif )
CODE
[/br]<script language="JavaScript">[br]window.open('www.site.com', 'title')[/br]</script>[br]

So use it and make people pissed!
Sometimes popups seem a little noobish cause a lot of free hosts that *BLEEP* use them...

I agree with zip_mc.

A lot of sites use them so you can go to a new site without having to leave THEIR site.

I mean, who really wants to keep pressing "Back" all day long?

But if you are using pop ups for advertising, you're doing yourself more harm than good.

i hate popups and popunders like hell. I will never put those on any of my sites. They really piss me off when i encounter them on any other website and I try to imagine what ppl will feel like when they experience on my site what I am experiencing on those popup sites.

How would you make a pop-up on somebody elses' site? They may not enable JavaScript on their site, therefore making it impossible to do. I mean, you would have to go into their cpanel and make a new page for it to work. Pop-ups really piss me off and it would be obnoxious to put it on somebody elses' site.

Hey guys,
In general I agree. Popups/popunders r useless, annoying and just downright irritating in general. As you all should know they can be a major source of "Adware/Spyware/Virus's/trojans" etc. if you click on them. However, they do have their legitimate uses. For example, when the user requests information that you don't want to dedicate a whole webpage on your site to OR when the user requests a registration form OR e-mail message forwarding etc.
If you would like a good pop killer program you can go to //AnalogX.com. It's FREE, is a small program & works very well on any OS. Also check out the other tools the website has to offer. Some SEO tools (also free) and API monitoring tools too.
Hope this helps!
Cheers!!

    menu at the bottom of every page. If you're one of those people easily impressed with Flash,
