You can check out MonoDevelop. It's an IDE, so it's bound to come with its own compiler, otherwise i would not see how it could advertise in the way it advertises. I cannot say if it has a smaller file size, though, as i don't use either programs, but you can check it out for yourself.

If you're looking for a free compiler, Mono is your best bet - http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page . MonoDevelop is a decent IDE for programs written in .NET languages on linux. Portable.NET is an alternative to Mono - http://www.dotgnu.org/pnet.html . It is not even close to Mono in terms of reputation, but it exists. I do not know its current functionality or problems. Those are they only 2 non-MS compilers that I know of for C#. There are free compilers for many other languages available, but they would obviously require you to learn the language (such as Python, Ruby and so on). Regards, z.

Freeware Softsynth/music Studio
Jeskola Buzz (2) One of my friends linked me to this the other night... The site is down, but google cache still has
it, and you can still download from the site... Buzz is a modular soft synth studio. It gives you
hundreds of synths, sounds, drum kits, effects and filters, puts them at your fingertips and lets

Upgrading To Macromedia Studio 8
Is it worth it? (4) RIght now, I have Macromedia Studio MX 2004. I have no problems with it, but I've heard that
studio 8 is also very good. I know that 8 has some inprovements, but is it worth paying another 400
dollar to upgrade? Thanks in advance.....
Pinnacle Studio V.10 Released
(0) I just got a E-mail form pinnacle systems today saying that November 1st will be the release date
for version 10, and upgrades are available now for preorder. I hope that version 10 will be much
better that version 9, because i don't want to pay another 70 bucks for somethinbg that is just

Macromedia Mx Studio 8
the newest installment is allmost here! (10) yeah, macromedia is coming out with mx studio 8 in a few weeks, soposetivly. The box is the same old
black design. I wonder what new and usefull features will be coming in this new edition. I'm
expecting some more actionscript, and some more pre-scripted stuff. Just building on all the stuff
they have now. who knows, mabie it'll be a completely different studio, or a new program...

Studio Quality System Advice
(1) We're looking into getting a studio set up, but no one i know has a Mac, which is what we
thought we'd go for. So i have no idea what we'd need, spex-wise. any advice on what is the
minimum & recommended Mac specs for studio recording? also, how would a PC measure up to a Mac in
that respect. -- since a PC is alot cheaper, will it make an obvious difference? someone suggested
we get one of the new ipod minis, but frankly it looked a bit small and weak. --not to mention the
hard drive size. ....

Visual Basics 6 Installation Problem
(7) Hi folks, I have VB6 and when I tried to install it, it pops up with saying shell.dll was not found
and that installation cant find that specific file or other files to install VB6. If anybody know
