| | What do you think about this site? I made it for computer society of india dce branch. There are some adjustments to be done (font size etc.) but otherwise I think it looks great. This was also the first time I integrated php in a flash page (for registeration).

I have to admit it looks really nice. I like the colors and menu script but i dislike the copyright font. it really doesnt fit in your site. Did you coded it by yourself or someone helped you with it?

I would say it's a nicely designed flash site, I would change the grey to one of the greens you have on your set to flow a bit better. With the pop ups you have display when someone moves over a link instead of having it on the image pop the pop in one of thsoe empty area's on left and of course change the color of text. Also you might need to do soem image cropping as well, the Computer Society of India seal stick out by like a copy of pixels just need to move it or cut that piece off just a bit. Now this is just me bt I would put the footer you have in the actual center, it looks off by being placed on the left. But other then those things its a nice clean layout in flash.

I really like although you could also put some science fiction sound on the buttons I want to say when you hover over them with mouse it is kinda trend in todays flash web design.

Wow, nicely done. It seems as if a lot of effor was done to make the design of the site proffessional, unlike most of the crappy sites on the interent today. I like how use used flash for the template, this makes me think over if I really want to use any flash on my site. Before I read your post, once I saw .edu I was wodnering how you were able to get a .edu domain, then I read the whole thing  . Like I said before, very nice job. I bet that Indian university is very proud on the job you have done and appreciate it very much

Thanks guys for your comments and suggestions. It took a lot of time to make this site the way it is and i just got too tired towards the end due to which the site still has some glitches. Your comments have motivated me to wake up and finish the job. BTW a trick I used : notice that the whole site is in flash but the footer is plain html. This keeps the site listed in search engines.

The design is good but not excellent. Because on my computer (SCREEN RESOLUTION 600x800 Opera 9.20) fonts are too small that it's difficult to read. About PHP - Flash integration Well done!

The site does not load for me. All i get is a white page with nothing on it so im not sure if you did something that stopped the flash from working.

Flash And Transparency
(7) Hi folks. I want to know if its possible to modify the transparency of an image in flash to give a
gradual transparent gradient? EG like the T17 banner where the text "Trap17" reflects. I know i
can do this in the GIMP but i need the background of the image/text to be transparent, and GIF is
the onyl format i can do that reliably and of course GIF is indexed and so i cant have a gradual
fade effect. Im really stuck on this one and im no Flash expert so any ideas? Ive attached a
screenie. Thats the effect i want (the black background is there so the effect is easy....

tried FF2, i wasn't a "web-designer" then so i didn't care much about css and htlm stuff, i

downloaded FF3 for testing purposes. in IE the site looked great but what i found was that in
firefox the site was horible, as bad as they could come. so since firefox was better....

Building A Forum Under Another Web Site?
(7) Hello, Im going to set up a simple website to use with my buddies. A main page where I can update
from time to time and a forum are all I need. I know WYSIWYG builders, ftp uploaders and forum
moderating. Im thinking of using phpBB since it's free and seems simple and reliable, right?
My question is can I build the forum on my local computer then upload to hosting service? The
readme.txt recomends to install online in host machine. And this is what I need to do, right?

does anyone know how to import a flash into a webpage with transparenc (1) Hi I need some help , Im designing this website for school studies However, I made a flash drop down
menu, works perfectly, but you know how flash has a background when you export it in to a SWF file?
For example my flash is width= 800, and height = 200 but my div box on my html page for my
navigation is only 50 px my buttons is width of 50px and the rest of the content is the drop down
animations i want to insert it into my navigation div box but i want to set the flash background to
transparent so that when the drop down menu comes down it overlaps the text or whateva....

I Need Some Help With Flash And Div Overlay

flash game in the middle of a page. However, the site navigation has dropdown menus that go on top
of the flash. Now, the navigation works if I use "wmode = transparent" or "wmode = opaque" in the

arrow keys "up" and "down" in most flash games will not work properly. Instead, they will make the

My New Site Template
Heres a new template of mine done in photoshop (3) This is my new template I'm going to be using for my new site. It took me 3 days to do. I spend
day 1 drawing it up sorry I cannot upload my draft sketch as my scanner is not working. The next 2
days I spent drawing it up in photoshop. The colours are kinda generic I know but thats my style. I
cant seem to create anything other then grey toned things. I think adding some decay onto the panels
will give it some depth something my style of drawing lacks. The panels - I like as many panels as

A Small Html Problem
How to display foreign characters correctly when designing a site. (4) I was wondering how I could solve a small problem. I was told that some people see accented and
umlauted letters (such as " é " and " ë ") as question marks (" ? ") on my website. I come across
the same thing sometimes when looking at websites which use non-English characters. Funnily enough,
the other day, I looked at a site and the apostrophy ( ' ) was also shown as a question mark.
That is a very common character usually, I would think. I thought it had something to do with the
character encoding settings, and let me also mention I use Mozilla Firefox as my brows....
