right guys and girls i have a new chalange for you. Write a php script that will reboot a server windows or linux platforms. if you think you know how to have a go and post the script below.

First of all that is illegal if you don't own the server yourself and is not appropriate if anyone should attempt to reboot any web server, as I know, most of the people on this forum use Trap 17 and i'm sure they would not be impressed if someone rebooted their servers.

anways, to get on topic... The only way I can think of, of how to do this would be to use the "exec" function in php. You would have to figure out the executable for shutting down a computer and also know the parameters for shutting down your computer. I used to know these but I can't remember them right now. This would only possibly work with windows, I'm not sure what you would do for linux.

Also, note what borghunter said.... If you decided to try shutting down a server that is not own by yourself, then you will most likely get banned from that place and possibly other consequences.

Well, to me it sounds like someone just wants a script and doesn't want to pay for it or whatever. I have truly no idea how to pull this off. I hope you don't plan on using this for any way that isn't legal.

I think it best that this topic get closed before it gets out of hand and somebody gets an idea in their head.
Having said that, I think the best (and only) way to re-boot a server is by way using its native control panel.
Any other way and you are inviting trouble.
