| | At a recent expo at San Fransisco, IBM, Sony and Toshiba revealed the Cell chip which operates at more than 4 GHz. Currently, it is 10 times or so more powerful than the faster Pentium 4 or AMD 64 pc processor.
I'm wondering what MS will do now! |

Also why dya ask what ms will do :S they don't make processors.
Like you said, intel and AMD do.
Either way it will be amazingly good but so god damn expensive

No doubt MS will try to buy this item and it will be a hot commodity for a while. I am very glad to see that Sony and Toshiba are still making quality products after their recent falls from grace in the computer world.

No the Cell processor won't be available for PCs, but probably will be used in IBM Supercomputers.
And MS won't buy this chip cuz is licensed under Sony Computer Entertainment.

Ps3 And The Cell Processor

What do you guys think about the Cell processor, developed by Sony, IBM, and Toshiba, which will be
used in the upcoming Playstation 3? Here is a link to an article about some of the details of the
processor: http://news.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/chips/0,3...39187097,00.htm Personally, I think this
processor looks pretty awesome. It will be faster than 4 GHz, which is quite amazing considering
it's size (if you can find a picture). It has 9 processing cores, which is also pretty awesome.
I am looking forward to PS3 and the wide use of processors such as this. Tiny...
