Need for speed series ,they just rock.
the best car games i would say is need for speed most wanted. It has great graphics and tons of great fast cars. I personally like it better on pc than other systems. Another good racing game is Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition. The game has a really good carrear mode with tons of fast and great cars to unlock.

So I'll say grand theft auto, which is probably more of a 3rd person rpg then car. But the best car game is need for speed high stakes for psx.
I guess there is driving in Mafia (inference drawn from the picture of the car) lol.
I agree with TripleH. 'Most Wanted' had sweet graphics and lots of options to supe up your ride. Great sound and a fun soundtrack further added flavour to the mix. How about the Gran Turismo series? Also, you can just drive around and have fun. The 2 player modes are fun too. They have all kinds are cars. Motorcycles, trucks, old cars, new cars. Tons of cars and tons of fun.
I prefer Gran Turismo. The lisence tests and challenges are fairly difficult and there are many realistic cars.
I prefer the need for speed series. They improve the game with every sequal they make. They also all have great graphics and game play. They also update the game alot with each new game. That way it not like buying a game with just updated cars. And if you havent played any games from this series i sujest you do becuase you won't want to stop playing it. Epscailly the lastest one which is amazing. It is even better on the xbox 360.
Best action or best car game? Well, for best car game I would have to say burnout. I played it after practicing with my band, while the others were discussing something else I was playing it and found it really cool and highly addictive. What is better than crashing cars and blowing them up, it makes it really fun.
I think the most best racing game is Crash Day, I seem there excellent graphics , and interesting idea.
Gran Turismo 4 is the best game i've ever had. 700 cars and 50 tracks is awsome. And you can modify your car as much as you want. Its so cool!

I actually find that the new Burnout: Paradise, game is hell good fun.
I can play it hours on end without getting bored, with the fun Showtime feature which allows you to Flip in the air at any given time [at a certain speed] and fly through the air and crash into Cars, Buses, signs etc. which then gives you Money as a score. My high score is $5.4 million, but there are probably people out there that can get higher for sure. I remember the older Burnout [revenge I think] people got scores reaching $58 million. But alot of the add on extras come at a price. The console version [ps3] asks for money if your want, add on packs, extra cars, maps, and stuff like that. So on top of the original $100 I payed, the extras can top to $250. Is that the price to pay for fun. Hopefully a customization tool for tracks and cars would be available in the future of this game. Also I want Criterion games to keep Paradise as a series, not just a one-off game.
Need For Speed!
Well I can't really draw a line between 'Gran Turismo' and 'Need For Speed Most Wanted'.
Most Wanted is an awesome game and it really get's you addicted well for me. I love the police chases and doing up the car etc. On the other hand Gran Turismo has great features and its ability to make you feel the weight of the cars and realism is great! Both have excellent graphics so I can't really decide but i love em both!
the need for speed series is by far the best. and the best need for speed is the most wanted game. most wanted rocks - the graphics are awesome, the cars are realistic and you can mod the cars in many ways.
