| | I work @ ratshack. While I'm here, I want to be able to work on my site, but I can't access cpanel. I think it has to be our proxy. Does anyone have any advice on how to get around this. I can't exactly ask the support team for RS as I'm not technically supposed to be doing anything non work related on there computers, but I get so bored here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What you are asking is borderline illegal since companies like ReraShack set those firewall in the first place to prevent personal abuse  you know what I'm saying? And since it can be viewed as illegal activity, discussing on this forum will also be illegal. But on the subject of intellectual curiosity, if the form of filter is based on words--i.e. you type your subdomain.trap17.com/cpanel--and your browser shows 'permission denied' or something extent to that message, then you could type in the cPanel IP address (the full detail found in the attachment I emailed you) and it may pass the filtering process (since it's not words but numbers). In the past, we discussed about using different proxy server. You can search for proxy servers online. Basically how it works is you --> log into proxy service --> you type URL --> the service "shows" you the URL page (and not your actual browser going to URL) And still, this is also borderline tricky so I'll stop it here. You can find more on the web by searching. And remember that proxy service method is betting on the chance that your internal firewall did not block that site as well.

It could be the Trap17 domains are blocked. Try accessing with the IP (located on the T17 Homepage) or maybe it's a filter that filters out stuff like "free hosting"

I don't think that RS intentionally filters cpanel. I don't think it is a filter @ all actually. I dunno what it is. We use websense to filter, and I don't get the websense page when I try to access cpanel. I just got it when I tryied to use the proxy you gave me because it detects that as proxy-avoidance. I don't really think that what I am trying to do is illegal. I can visit trap17 (i'm at work right now). It is only cpanel that I can't access. I did try the IP and that didn't work either.

Trouble Logging Into Cpanel
(0) When i go to the cpanel page for my account, internet explorer tells me the that it doesn't have

Some help here? (3) I created a hosting account sometime this afternoon. I was able to go in and look around the cpanel,
but I didn't do anything. However, a few hours later, I was unable to login. The ftp login using

Server Status Link Without Loggin Into Cpanel
(1) Is there a link page in Trap17.com or in Xisto.com to check the server status without logging in?
I'd need that to make a shortcut link from my homepage and probably in my signature to check the
server status on the spot and it'd save me time from logging into cPanel. Also, if the server
is down, cPanel would probably be down as well. Hence there's no other ways that I know of that
is able to check for server status. So is there an alternative way or link to that for public use?....

How To Access The Ftp On My Account
It won't let me in to upload files (7) I've been to my cpanel and found the account name and the required user id's etc. It seems
to recognize the username, but stalls on the password. I went so far as to add a new user account
so that I knew what the password was, but it still won't let me in to uplaod. Are there any
settings that should be altered anywhere? I haven't used the ftp on the account yet, so it
should be in a "raw" state from the set up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.......

cPanel Url Gives A Blank Page

New Uploads Does Not Update
Is it a bug in cPanel? (4) Hi, I've noticed that whatever things I've uploaded into my hosting account, it doesn't
update. Only after I open directly from cPanel and then click Refresh manually, the newly uploaded
stuffs will then be updated. Or else it will still stick to the old files even on another computer
or with history and cache deleted. Simply clicking on the direct URL will also not update. This
problem I've noticed from the time when I first got this webhosting account. I though there
might be a problem in the server and might recover afew moments later. But it doesn....
