| | I'm planning to use JSP for a change... Just wanna try out JSP, because I'm a PHP programmer. I'm just curious
Can this server support ASP also?
And, since i'm a beginner to JSP, can you recommend a website that teaches a newbie like me in JSP programming and also, Python programming? |

The only question I can answer is this: QUOTE Can this server support ASP also? No, the server is Linux, ASP needs a Windows server to operate, sadly, Maybe OpaQue could have a play with windows hosting? lol One of my sites (my sims one) is now on a windows server, dont know what version, Its a pain to set permissions, Linux is way easier for that Anyhoo, im gonna have a play with APS now that you brought it up.

Well as you already know no ASP is allowed, unfornatelly JSP is hard to find around here(aldo they do have a Tomcat server running with JSP support), since you need to be a very special supermember or something in order to OpaQue get you some permissions to do so... I must say that jsp is far better and more powerfull than ASP or PHP but is still very hard to find any free hosting sites with JSP support... Feel free to continue with PHP which is also a very nice tool as you already know Regards nonon

Then they switched to PHP, and everything was fast!

What i think, ASP, JSP and PHP almost same if you have a small application to develop where you have to perform only some database updation, session tracking etc. All above 3 will work 100% fine for small applications, you can use anyone. But if you have a very big enterprise application to develop then you can compare which technology is best. And for big enterprise application, i think JSP is better. Like JSP pages loads fast because it doesnt compile at every request, in JSP you use Java which is 100% Object Oriented Language, gives you more control etc.
