There has been too many posts about this when I say many I mean LOADS... Anyways html is sooo easy... Anyone could learn it in a day, I started when I was 8. Well that is sweet that you know how to make javascript pop ups. I don't think you should read a whole load of crap up on it, just make a a page and as you go along just see what fings you need read up on them add it, improve it carry on. And then you will have a page full of awesome stuff. Googling it is the solution for basically every question asked in this category probably...

Best way, in my opinion (and others), is to get yourself a HTML generator, IE microsoft front page. You can create decent webpages with this and have little knowledge of html. Due to its html view, you could create a simple piece of text, view it in html and see how it works.

I started of using it for websites. By creating lots of them i slowly understood it, i then took a big intrest in launguage itself and learnt very fast. I still use it now, but i use the HTML editor view a lot.

Anyway good luck on learning, if you get stuck with anything search it on google

netscape has one ... i'm not sure if it's still out there (it's harder and harder to find) but used to be at developer.netscape.com and it was fantastic ... and you can download the whole thing as well. I can't find it anymore (thank god i have it locally!).

i would say www.lissaexplains.com is the best, its more of a tutorial rather than a long list of HTML tags for you.. if you are just looking for html tags maybe because you forgot them or something, then try www.funky-chickens.com

Also, bro that asked the question originally, you wanted to know if you'd learned enough HTML, which everyone here failed to answer I'd say yes. A little of experience in all the languages will benefit you more than a ****load of HTML. Because, mainly, HTML has boundraies that CGI/PERL and PHP, and ASP.NET pick up on. I suggest, alot of each, moreso than all HTML. In other words, if you know basic HTML tags, and some javascript, I'd say you're ready for the big dogs. Go learn some PHP, (Google it) and have your way.

i want to learn php and other languages soon myself..i started html when i was young so i got really into it and everything.. if i already know html, how hard do you think it will be to learn php or other languages? (im aware that html is the most basic one)

Go gooooogling m8. Thats the best way for you to learn your HTML as fast as possible. There are so many free and good HTML tutorials out there and gooooogling can really help you get as much as u want.

I learned HTML by looking at a couple tutorials (at w3schools.com and davesite.com). then i went to a few of my favorite sites, and studied their HTML source ('View -> Source' in most browsers) for many months. it really works!

now i'm learning PHP and failing at that, but you can't get ANYWHERE if you don't know HTML!

also, its more important to learn CSS before learning Javascript IMHO. HTML and CSS go hand-in-hand. plus, basically everyone enables CSS. not so for Javascript! many people choose to manually block Javascript through their browser settings, so its not a great idea to overuse it... just be warned...

PS. be prepared to see the words "Hello World" at basically any programming tutorial you can imagine!
