| | I am currently using my PocketPC as my all around device. I no longer carry my old 2.2 mega pixel bulky camera (Kodak DX3600). It's too bulky and the delay really sucks. My AT&T 8525 has a 2 mega pixel camera, records audio and video as well as all the other neat things like the full slide out qwerty keyboard, touchscreen, web browser, and runs Windows Mobile 5.0. Too bad I can't install Linux on it yet 
Well, back on topic: cameras. I just got back from a trip to Hawaii in Nov. 2007 and didn't even bring my old Kodak. The pictures from my 8525 turned out pretty well, and I'm actually considering making some calendars and postcards from some of the pictures I took there and selling them on my website... once I get it up and running the way I want.

Well, I dont want less quallity photos but by quality I dont mean 10 megapixel 30 megapixel etc :) If my cell phone could take photos fast, if they are in enough size to print, if I can take photos in not-normal situtions (normal= well lighted, well colour balanced etc) well its good enough for me. I like taking photos and I would prefer a good cameraphone so i can takes photos whenever whereever :) Isnt a pocket pc bullky?

Well for a camera phone that isn't wildly expensive, your looking at 3-5 mega pixel camera, I'd advice a sony erikson above nokia and samsung etc but thats just me.

I currently have a Sony-Ericsson K810i phone which has a 3.2 megapixel sensor (with autofocus and blitz). Previously I have owned a Sony-Ericsson K750i (2 megapixel sensor with autofocus and with LEDs). I'm not a big fan of Nokia, so I can't speak much about the quality of the pictures taken with a Nokia camera phone but the K810i really has a great camera. If you ask me Sony-Ericsson are the best in picture quality in the phone department. In the daylight it's very hard to make any difference between a photo taken with a SE K810i and a standalone digital camera. There is still room for improvement for the quality of the pictures taken in low light conditions, but I guess that also has to do with the size of the sensor - which has to be a lot smaller. It's also about marketing, but it's no mistake my K810i holds the logo CyberShot! As for the poll I voted for smaller cameras instead of the bulky ones, but we have to remember that the best picture quality will only be archived not with a digital but the the old fashioned film camera with complete manual settings. Of course you have to know when to use which settings,l but that is the apex in terms of quality.

To take photos I use only my camera Samsung NV3, which has some additional special functions like playback MP3's and video files and has a TV output... yeah and it can record video with sufficent quality of 640x480 30fps. I think its a good vote for a multimedia portable center ...the only thing is missing to make calls

well it's somewhat embarsing if I caried my camera always so some time my Nokia N73 3.2 Mp phone camera is useful and it's so useful because sometimes thier is sights that you realy want to picture ...

for me just look for carl seizz(spelling?). higher megapixels doesn't usually mean better quality. and also look for a camera that detects motion like sony. But if your looking for quality try digital cameras

I use a MotoMING . Great phone and a great 2.0 MP camera. I haven't seen a Macro mode in any other phone's camera. Works beautifully.

I hate the quality of camera phones. The picture quality, even set at the highest settings that you can possible go, usually come out grainy, full of noise, and off-tone as far as color goes. That's my experience, anyway, with my Motorola i580 which sports an awesome 1.3 megapixel camera.  But almost nothing beats the multi-functionality of a cell phone that can take pictures and record video... and maybe I'm just missing out on the more expensive models that can actually take acceptable photos and video, but I would rather carry around my bulky Canon Rebel XT and take a great picture than settle for the portability of a camera phone. Yes, a crappy picture is better than no picture, but if I'm going to be going out to capture a moment, I will have my camera handy. I personally don't go out to pursue taking pictures with my cell phone because of that fact. Then again, it's weird how a night club scene full of adolescents comes to mind when I think of people that actively go out to use their cell phones as cameras...  It might be good for MySpace, Friendster, or Photobucket, but it isn't that great to capture all of your moments that way.

Im really happy with my phones camera. I have an Lg Voyager[VX-1000] With a 2 Mega pixel camera. At first i wasnt very pleased that the phone only came with a 2 mp camera cause it was worth so much money, but i am very pleased with the quality, and the filters that are on the phone area cool also, no need for editing when you can change the lighting and the whiteblanace. Also that i can change the size from 1600x1200 to 320x240 Which is really good for the pictures i need to take for homework if i don't want to rite it down. ha

I have used many camera phones, changing each year to hopefully get the latest technology, from 2 to 3 Megapixels, and now, I am currently using the Nokia N95. I have to say other than the build quality of the phone, it is fanatstic. The camera boasts a 5 Megapixel Carl Zeiss lens, macro mode, night focus and many other functions and settings. I could say it is as good as my 6 Meagapixel Casio Digital camera. In terms of video quality, I must say that settings are few, but the quality is really more than expected, though the zooming is rough. The TV output is there too, with very good quality output. I mean no form of advertising, but I really love this phone, even after a year.
