This is the problem with very big free hosts such as 000webhost and ByetHost, they use so much resources for nothing, they have to cut down on services offered, if I was you I would go to a Post 2 Host (Yes, Trap 17) and get hosting their, at least you know they are getting something for their services...

I tried their hosting a long time before... I liked them. But lots downtime. Their bandwidth and disk space is good. However they are still one of the few web hosts (FREE) which survives! In the free-webhosts site there are lot of messages about how fast they are now... But I think i will go for trap 17...
Yes! Byet host is a bad host for me because I dont really know what's their purpose... lol... They offer good services although they are a little bit slower. I think Byethost is a unfriendly site. Their cPanel thingy there is themed with Vista which is very yucky. I didnt like it. Trap17 is better than that Byethost!

Hmm well trap176 is brilliant and its what I use. Until I need or can afford payed hosting but that'll be a while yet. I also fnd because you are required to post on the forums any problems you have a quickly sorted out!

Its cPanel is nice. Byet Host does not install complete add on for PHP though. That's mean many classes in certain framework (e.g. Zend Framework) will not work. That's why I move to Trap17  However, I do not know about its speed. I only use it to test my PHP application.

Good thing I noticed this topic before I registered in Byet Host... So I think Trap17 is the best when it comes to web space hosting ...Then I rather stick with this site then go to Byet Host ..
I'm sticking with trap17 100% but I also get some other hosts for other site reasons and stuff.
I have a friend that uses this host, I have seen no problems yet but who knows, I don't like the domain with byethost in it...I don't know why..
A webhosting should provide cronjob and fsockopen() php function enabled. But byethost and other free hosting providers do not provide these. I think these functions are too important. I have a forum site. And I want to watch the RSS from my website, but it requires fsockopen() function. Byethost has more bad things for example my website on byethost was frequently redirecting to another blog sites because of maintenance they say.

I had your pain man. I used it I got 35 members and 900 posts then suddenly my forum is shut down because the storing limit was 100MB. I got mad and put a report to them. Of course that didn't do anything. But it was worth a try. Soon enough they blocked my I.P after they read it. So I never went on it again.

God, Byethost sucks! when i signed up for it they gave me my password and everything on it, but i couldn't log in! you can upload archives so after 2 hours of uploading wordpress files i finally gave up (and i wasn't even finished). Byet host is one of the worst hosts I've seen....

Within last two years, I had 8 different sites hosted over byethost. For me, service was good and i really liked their support for answering support tickets. Generally speaking, they were really good until the beginning of 2009 but these days they are not good for a medium to advance websites. My main issue is their slow loading of websites which sometimes lead into some script error in your site. I don't recommend it to any one any more.
For me, qov.tw, which is also powered by byethost, is better than almost free web hosting services. Fairly low latency, and support most PHP functions.
But I have something to say. Absence of socket and cURL functions support makes me uncomfortable; its database capacity is limited to 50mb; and its VistaPanel always halts my IE8. So I want to try Trap17.
